“Your intentions are corrupt; if the Sacred Light Jade falls into your hands, it will be a disaster. Otherwise, your father wouldn’t have passed it to Le’er. As the saying goes, it’s passed to sons, not daughters. Since it ended up with a daughter, it means anyone has a chance to claim the Sacred Light Jade. Rather than it falling to you, it might as well be in the hands of our Saitō family,” Saitō Masahara spat contemptuously.

Heikichirō was infuriated by his words, teeth grinding in anger. What corrupt intentions? He himself coveted the Sacred Light Jade just as much. “How arrogant! You’re nothing but a dog of the Nakajima family. If it weren’t for Tokugawa Ieyasu’s strong recommendation, your Saitō family wouldn’t even qualify to enter the ranks of the Four Great Guardians.”

“A dog, huh? Hmph, you brat are quite bold. Our two families share an inseparable bloodline. Your slander against the Saitō family is no different from defaming your own Nakajima kin.”

“Enough nonsense. Attack!” Nakajima Heikichirō gave the order without further debate. All rushed toward the mountain. While the Saitō family tangled with other clans, military forces gathered at the foot of the mountain. The government had no authority to intervene in the internal strife among the Guardian families’ factions, as they operated beyond governmental control. The emperor had once stepped in to mediate, temporarily quelling tensions, but the peace was short-lived. The death of the Nakajima patriarch was like a fuse igniting. To avoid innocent casualties, the Self-Defense Forces stood solemnly stationed in the town below, observing from afar.

The battle initially seemed to favor the others, a three-to-one fight. Yet none expected Saitō Masahara to be so formidable. Heikichirō was somewhat surprised; could it be that he had concealed his strength when saving Le’er at the funeral?

Masahara wielded his katana with wild fury, each swing releasing violent sword energy: “Moonshadow Slash.”

A single strike sent three waves of sword energy in different directions toward the enemy formation. A samurai caught off guard was instantly cleaved in two. Witnessing this, the heads of the Hosokawa, Matsui, and Isshiki families quickly surrounded him.

“Hahaha, today is your death day,” Hosokawa Moritaka said calmly, gripping his blade.

“Indeed, indeed, I’ve long held disdain for your Saitō family.”

“Old man, prepare to die!”

Facing three seasoned warriors, Masahara stayed alert, his katana glowing with blue lightning as electricity surged from the blade: “Thunderclap Slash!”

Masahara single-handedly fought three formidable foes. After hundreds of exchanges, the battle remained evenly matched. Hidden behind the shrine, the group grew restless. Lolita Panther whispered urgently, “They’re fighting. Can we move now?”

“Yes, Aunt Lan, be careful,” Du Bin nodded. The original plan had shifted: the Ye Lan sisters were to distract the commander remaining at the shrine, while the Black Panther siblings would rescue Le’er. Hu Guozheng, Tong Xiaoguo, and others remained concealed on the outskirts.

Ye Lan’s sudden appearance immediately drew attention. Most of the remaining samurai were average fighters, quickly overwhelmed by the sisters’ assault. As the Saitō general Miki Nakamura hurried to join the fray at the second circle, the wedding descended into chaos. Masahara, interrupted and displeased, saw two shadows emerge from the artificial hill, panicked, and shouted.

Lolita Panther appeared beside Kamikura instantly: “Master, let’s go.”

Kamikura nodded, discarding her headscarf and following her away. From afar, the fleeing Saitō Masakiyo, seeing his bride rescued, gritted his teeth and led several samurai in pursuit. “Launch the signal flare!”

A red flare shot skyward. Seeing this, Saitō Masahara’s face darkened as he cursed at Heikichirō, “You little brat, a feint!”

“What are you talking about?” Heikichirō looked baffled. He hadn’t sent anyone else. Both sides halted, puzzled.

Masahara asked suspiciously, “The shrine was attacked — wasn’t it your people?”

Both sides realized they had been outmaneuvered and ceased fighting, rushing up the mountain. If the other party’s target was clearly Nakajima Le’er, who was behind this? The Yagyū family? An ancient clan that had coveted the Sacred Light Jade for centuries? This question troubled all.

With Lolita Panther successfully rescuing Le’er, Ye Lan and the others withdrew without further conflict. Just as Miki Nakamura prepared to pursue, a sudden purple flame erupted, engulfing the forest and blocking their path. Watching them disappear in the blaze, Miki Nakamura clenched his fists.

The group regrouped. Du Bin injected Kamikura with a syringe. The enhancement broke through the seal on her supernatural ability, allowing her to recover swiftly beneath the moonlit sky.

“Le’er, spatial transfer,” Du Bin said. His reason for retreating was clear: he knew they couldn’t leave unscathed under watchful eyes. The only safe route was Kamikura’s spatial transfer ability — an ability he was eager to witness firsthand.

Kamikura shot him a sideways glance. This guy was ordering her around now — bold indeed. But there was no time for manners. Her eyes turned red, dark power slowly warping reality. A red spiral quickly took shape. “Go!”

Lolita Panther entered first. Seeing the others’ strange expressions, she reassured, “Don’t worry, I won’t send you somewhere else.”

Without waiting for a response, she disappeared into the space. One by one, the others followed, a white light enveloping them, their bodies burning with heat.

After their spatial transfer escape, the four families gathered at the shrine, surveying the devastation. Learning it was Le’er’s attendant Lolita Panther who had led the rescue, Saitō Masahara’s face was deathly pale. If not for their own carelessness...

“Le’er was rescued — by whom?” Heikichirō was unconcerned about his family’s losses; his target had escaped, and he was furious at being used as a pawn.

At Masahara’s signal, Miki Nakamura recounted the events: “Unclear. They’re not from our Yamato clan. Their abilities resemble those of Chinese supernatural users.”

“Looks like we’ll have to deal with those Chinese ‘abilities’ after all,” Hosokawa Motoharu said slyly.

“Our goals are the same — the Sacred Light Jade. I propose a temporary truce. Our top priority now is to find Le’er’s whereabouts,” Heikichirō said reluctantly, attempting to sway the Saitō family. After all, aside from them, the Yagyū family was watching from afar.

“I agree.”

Seeing the three families in consensus, Heikichirō had little choice. He was already at a disadvantage. “Fine, no problem.”

As the five families' strongest warriors joined forces to search Tokyo, the group had already appeared at the outskirts of another city connected to it. The sensation of instantaneous transfer was still unfamiliar to them.

Kamikura’s head throbbed faintly. Lolita Panther supported her gently. “Miss, are you alright?”

She shook her head, dismissing it as just some aftereffects. Du Bin approached cautiously. “Le’er, can we talk alone?”

“All right.” Seeing his secretive demeanor, Lolita Panther withdrew.

The two walked to a distant meadow. Du Bin spoke carefully, “Kamikura, since you can manipulate spatial transfer, have you heard of the Five-Colored Space?”

“Five-Colored Space... I have a faint impression. What about it?” Kamikura looked at him surprised.

“It’s like this: in Guangzhou, Xiao Tang killed Wu Qiwei. For some reason, she accidentally triggered the opening of a Five-Colored Space gateway, and was sucked inside, disappearing.”

Kamikura pondered thoughtfully, then asked, “Do you know what the Five-Colored Space really is?”

“No. But I suspect it’s another parallel world.” Du Bin did not hide what he knew, trusting Kamikura was already familiar with the matter.
