After hanging up the phone, Du Bin saw Hu Guozheng finishing a call with Sasha. Shortly after, Hu said, "Sasha says she knows a prestigious doctor in Shanghai who can analyze the ingredients of the R-vaccine for us, provided we can get our hands on it."

"Good. Let’s go pick up Lingling first."

They left the inn and drove toward Huafa New City. When they arrived at the main entrance, a security guard stopped them. Du Bin understood that security here was strictly controlled.

"Sir, who are you looking for?"

Du Bin gave the guard the location of Qin Ling’s residence. The guard entered the booth and dialed Qin Ling’s number. "What is your surname?"

"My surname is Du."

The line connected, and Qin Ling’s voice came through: "Is something the matter?"

"Miss Qin, there is a Mr. Du at the security office looking for you."

"Let him in," Qin Ling replied, knowing Du Bin had arrived.

"Understood." After hanging up, the guard logged their entry and let them pass. Once cleared, Hu Guozheng drove into the parking lot. As they reached the villa area, they noticed several bodyguards stationed outside Qin Ling’s villa. Du Bin knew they couldn't just walk in openly.

They circled around to the back door, crossing a small lake to reach the rear garden. The back entrance wasn't guarded, but Du Bin noticed two men nearby keeping watch—evidently part of the same security detail. Du Bin, still injured and unable to exert himself, signaled to Hu Guozheng, who immediately walked toward them.

The two men didn't pay much attention to Hu Guozheng as he approached, merely maintaining a defensive stance. Hu Guozheng pretended to be a lost passerby and asked for directions. Taking advantage of the distraction, Du Bin scrambled over the iron fence and quickly reached the back door, knocking softly. A moment later, Qin Ling opened the door. Wearing a baseball cap and a face mask, and draped in a long coat, she followed Du Bin as they quickly crossed the path in the middle of the lake and entered the woods. Hu Guozheng acted confused, then wandered off in another direction. The bodyguards, unaware that Qin Ling had already left, continued their watch outside the villa. When they rendezvoused at the parking lot, Hu Guozheng immediately drove away from Huafa New City.

"Du Bin, do you know which hospital has the vaccines?" Qin Ling asked, sitting up after lying low in the back seat to avoid the guards' view.

Du Bin, sitting in the passenger seat, turned back and said, "Although they say it’s been mass-produced, we investigated before we arrived. Only one hospital in Zhuhai has received the R-vaccine, so our only target is the Fifth Hospital. The fatty’s girlfriend is already flying in with a doctor."

"Oh, it’s highly likely to be there, then." Qin Ling also felt that the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University was the most probable location, given that it was formerly a military hospital and was fully equipped.

Hu Guozheng drove skillfully. "Exactly. Once we get the vaccine, we’ll rendezvous with Sasha and the others."

"You don't mean to steal it in broad daylight, do you?" Qin Ling was surprised, sensing their intention to act during the day.

Du Bin thought for a moment and replied, "It’s not impossible, but to avoid causing a public spectacle, we should wait until night. Besides, we’ll leave that to the fatty."

"Damn it! I’m here to protect you, not to be your errand boy," Hu Guozheng grumbled, clearly unhappy.

"Do you want me, a wounded man, to steal the vaccine? I’m not even sure I could make it out of the hospital."

"Shut up." Seeing them disagreeing, she interrupted. Realizing that Du Bin’s injury was actually a good opportunity, she had a sudden thought. "Both of you, follow my lead. Du Bin, your injury is perfect. Pretend you’re there for the vaccine treatment; I’ll cover the costs, so don't worry about that. While I cause a scene with the fatty to distract the doctors, you take the opportunity to swipe the vaccine from the treatment room and get out."

"I vote for this plan with both feet. Two against one, Old Du—you have no choice," Hu Guozheng said, sticking his tongue out triumphantly.

Helpless, Du Bin had to agree. He had originally wanted Hu Guozheng to steal it at night to avoid aggravating his injury, but now the plan had completely changed.

The three arrived near the Fifth Hospital. After a quick lunch, Du Bin and Qin Ling headed to the outpatient building while the fatty followed at a distance.

The hospital was packed with patients, most there for the vaccine. After a long wait in line, they finally reached the self-service payment kiosk. Du Bin inserted his medical insurance card and checked the vaccine descriptions. The R-vaccine wasn't a single universal dose; it was categorized by treatment type, with prices varying based on the condition. Simple immune system boosters cost ten thousand per shot, while treatments for specific diseases were far more expensive, some even reaching hundreds of thousands. The hospital’s reputation for price-gouging was well-known.

Qin Ling went to the payment section and used her bank card to load the balance. They got their number, but it took another hour and a half of waiting before it was finally Du Bin’s turn. Two armed police officers stood at the door, clearly guarding the vaccines. From the moment they entered, it was clear that the hospital was heavily guarded, with police replacing the standard security guards at the booths.

Soon it was Du Bin’s turn. He signaled to Hu Guozheng in the distance and entered the vaccination room with Qin Ling. Inside, two nurses were tidying up, and a doctor sat at a desk writing reports. There were two treatment rooms, each with a bed.

Du Bin sat before the doctor, who politely explained the benefits of the vaccine, claiming it had no side effects at all. Du Bin chatted along with the doctor. Led by a nurse into one of the injection rooms, Du Bin lay down on the bed. The nurse wiped his arm with disinfectant and tied a rubber tourniquet around it. Another nurse took a vial of green vaccine from a box and drew a small amount into a syringe. Just as she was about to administer the shot, an explosion occurred outside. The heat triggered the sprinkler system, causing chaos.

The sudden turn of events startled the nurse, who dropped the syringe on the floor. Thick smoke began to fill the room. In the ensuing confusion, the nurse gave Du Bin a quick instruction and ran out to assist the armed police in maintaining order. Once the nurse was gone, Qin Ling immediately entered and signaled, "Okay, the fatty has created a diversion. Let’s grab the vaccine and go."

"Right." Du Bin removed the tourniquet and examined the box, but it was locked with a code he couldn't crack.

To save time, Du Bin simply grabbed the entire box. The pair climbed out the window to escape. When the situation calmed down and the nurse returned to find the patient gone—and the vaccine box missing—she panicked. She alerted the police, who immediately locked down all hospital exits. By the time Du Bin and Qin Ling reached the main gate, they saw the police blocking the entrance.

"We were a few seconds too late. If we had been faster, we could have gotten out," Du Bin said, watching the police inspect vehicles and pedestrians. Hu Guozheng turned his head and said, "Looks like I’ll have to use my ability to knock them out."

"Absolutely not. Have you forgotten what Auntie Lan told us about using our powers on ordinary people? We’ll just have to charge through."

Hu Guozheng pouted, looking frustrated. Soon, it was their turn. Three armed police officers surrounded the car. One walked up to Hu Guozheng and knocked on the window. Hu rolled it down and said with an innocent expression, "Officer, is something wrong?"

"Sorry, sir. Please turn off the engine and step out. We are conducting a routine check. It won't take long."

"Sure, just a moment." Hu Guozheng pretended to comply, but suddenly shifted gears and slammed on the gas. The car roared forward, smashing through the barrier and speeding away.

"Quick! They’re the ones who stole the vaccine! After them!" The officers reacted, firing a few shots, and two Humvees soon gave chase.
