Chapter 74: Pleading for Mercy
Several icicles appeared, piercing through the skulls of the Iron Skewer Demons and Crocodile Beasts in an instant.
With a series of dull thuds, all six Iron Skewer Demons and Crocodile Beasts fell dead.
Then, a surge of extreme cold erupted, freezing the Liquid Walkers in place.
“Explode!”
The icy mass swelled, and with a resounding bang, the Liquid Walker shattered instantly. In the air, a crystal core no bigger than a marble appeared.
Around the crystal core, the liquid writhed toward it.
Qin Hao’s psychic force instantly wrapped around three crystal cores, dragging them into his hand. He closed his fingers.
Crack!
The crystal cores broke.
In a flash, blue liquid spilled onto the floor, releasing a unique aroma—something like a rare green tea, yet in truth, it was the scent of Liquid Walker blood.
“Roar!”
At that moment, the Flame Demon, still imprisoned, bellowed furiously. Flames surged from its body, striving to incinerate the ice and regain freedom.
But in the next moment, Qin Hao raised his hand, and three metal longswords flew out, piercing the orange eyes on the Flame Demon’s massive head.
With a sickening squelch, the orange eyes were struck, and blood like molten lava streamed out. All three Flame Demons collapsed to the ground.
Yet, just then, new hunting beasts emerged.
Even the four-meter tall, two-hundred square meter luxury villa hall now felt crowded.
Qin Hao stored the bodies of the exotic beasts in his spatial ring and then turned to face the newcomers.
Most of the new beasts targeted Qin Hao, but some attacked Liu Si and his group.
Liu Si, unable to control his body, was seized by terror.
He couldn’t understand—how could someone be so powerful?
Hadn’t those who entered the ranks of second-level Evolvers already become strong? Even if they couldn’t withstand a battle, surely they’d at least have a chance to fight back. Yet here, there was none.
Under Qin Hao’s control, Liu Si was like an ant waiting to be crushed.
Now, his fate hung entirely on Qin Hao’s whim—whether Qin Hao would first slay the beasts attacking their side.
In reality, Qin Hao paid them no mind.
But the other Evolvers were already terrified into stupidity. Their bodies frozen, they managed to open their mouths with barely warm tongues, begging Qin Hao for mercy.
---
“Great hero, we were wrong! Spare us, spare us!”
“Have mercy, great hero!”
“It was all Lu Shaohua! He made us do it—it’s not our fault!”
“Hero, aren’t you tasked with saving humanity? Save us, please!”
But Qin Hao remained unmoved.
“Lord Qin, Lord Qin, help!”
An Evolver burst from a side room, two creatures in pursuit—Liquid Walker and Flame Demon.
He had managed to kill the Iron Skewer Demon and Crocodile Beast, but the Liquid Walker was strange, and the Flame Demon possessed high-temperature attacks and fiery rays—the only exotic beast so far with ranged lethality.
Fear overwhelmed him. Not wanting to be injured, terrified of death, and with a way out, this so-called hero could only run to seek aid.
Qin Hao glanced at him, noting he had fled just beyond the villa. Instantly, Qin Hao conjured an icicle.
The icicle transformed into a spear a meter and a half long, shooting straight out of the villa.
With a crash, the icicle shattered glass, flew over thirty meters, and pierced the Flame Demon’s skull.
Blood spurted. The Flame Demon collapsed instantly.
The Evolver heard the sound, turned, and saw the terrifying Flame Demon slain.
He looked toward Qin Hao’s villa, wanting to thank him for the help. Yet, in the next moment, terror spread across his face.
He saw the chaos within Qin Hao’s villa—monsters everywhere.
Why were there so many creatures over there?
The Evolver, who had intended to seek Qin Hao’s help, nearly fled in panic.
Was this the crisis that true power brought?
Fortunately, only a Liquid Walker remained behind him. While he couldn’t kill it, the Liquid Walker wouldn’t easily kill him either.
Just then, the doors of the neighboring villa beside Qin Hao opened. Zi Hui, clad in her divine robes, strode out.
In the next moment, a beam of black light struck the Liquid Walker.
Liquid Walkers possessed immortality, but dark abilities were designed specifically to drain lifespan and weaken vitality. The Liquid Walker’s body rapidly shriveled, shrinking like a rotting eggplant.
Zi Hui followed up with another ray, striking the still-intact core—the creature’s vital spot.
In a flash, the Liquid Walker died.
---
More and more heroes rushed out, unable to withstand the assault.
But some had already defeated their beasts in advance.
Aside from Zi Hui, the fastest was An Zi Heng.
An Zi Heng had an extraordinary advantage—five pets, and with himself, six sources of combat strength. Facing eight hunting creatures, he was far from weak. Having become a second-level Evolver, his power was formidable, and he eliminated the creatures with little effort.
Though the Liquid Walker could not be killed outright, An Zi Heng’s five pets tore its body apart, and the crystal core was bitten and crushed without anyone realizing how dangerous the creature truly was.
But most heroes could not withstand so many monsters. They barely managed to kill one before the rest chased them out, forcing them to fight while fleeing and beg for Qin Hao’s help.
Qin Hao hunted beasts within the villa, but his psychic force extended far beyond, attacking whenever someone called for aid.
With help from Zi Hui and An Zi Heng, the exotic beasts were quickly wiped out.
Inside Qin Hao’s villa, blood flowed like rivers—not only from monsters, but also from people.
Including Qin Hao, there were fifty-two people in the villa, and they had to release 416 beasts.
Even with twelve spatial black holes constantly swallowing and releasing monsters, each hole had to disgorge thirty-four beasts.
These beasts crawled out endlessly, only to be quickly dispatched, while those fifty-some people had already been torn to shreds.
No, among the humans, one remained—Liu Si.
Liu Si, a second-level Evolver, extended his psychic force, shrouding himself in shadows. He struggled beneath the bodies of others, hiding so as not to be seen by the alien creatures.
He watched Qin Hao’s battle with his own eyes. His psychic force transformed into faith, drifting toward Qin Hao and being absorbed by Qin Hao’s hero system.
Liu Si was not worshipping Qin Hao, but was shocked and terrified.
Qin Hao’s power far exceeded his imagination.
If he had known the opponent was this strong, he would never have gotten involved—not even if someone threatened his life.
As he desperately suppressed his breathing, a deafening roar suddenly erupted.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
It sounded like the detonation of explosives, though the source was far away—the ground trembled beneath him.
Only then did Liu Si remember: Qin Hao wasn’t the only one facing alien creatures—Lu Shaohua was too.
But seeing the brutality of these aliens, Liu Si was filled with foreboding.
Lu Shaohua, it seemed, was doomed.
