Chapter 137: Journey to Oceania
After his rebirth, Qin Hao's destiny was to become the god of mankind. All these stellar energies were his resources, belonging to humanity—how could they possibly be taken away by an alien invading civilization?
"Truly courting death."
Anger surged within Qin Hao's heart, but he managed to suppress his fury.
Protecting the heroes of China was paramount right now; Qin Hao could not simply drop this burden and leave immediately.
He stepped away from the trap site and returned to the hero base.
The three-minute limit arrived, and all the heroes received the same message.
Upon hearing the news, the expressions of these heroes turned grim.
At the same time, it was only in this moment that they realized how many lives Qin Hao's actions had saved.
Every hero in China owed a debt of gratitude to Qin Hao. Had it not been for him, while China's heroes might not have been entirely wiped out, no one could guarantee that they themselves would not have been among the fallen.
Upon receiving the news, Zihui immediately came looking for Qin Hao.
"Qin Hao, Oceania has fallen. Do you plan to go over there?" Zihui was well aware that Qin Hao possessed a teleportation disc in his hands, capable of traveling anywhere on Blue Star. If he wished to go, returning would also be easy; her only fear was that those invading creatures were too terrifying.
"I am leaving immediately, but I cannot set my mind at ease regarding matters here. I need to brief you on a few things," Qin Hao said.
"Rest assured, I will lead the defense against the hunting creatures of the Kaya civilization."
Qin Hao nodded, then, recalling something, asked, "How are the heroes in the base right now? Are any of them planning to go out and hunt?"
"Yes, many have already gone to register with Li Lan, and numerous evolvers are enlisting as well."
"I'll go take a look first!"
Within the hero base, to ensure development and earn stellar energy diamonds, some people inevitably had to venture outside to hunt the monsters of the invading civilization.
Because of this, Li Lan had specially established a grand hall for the Hero Association, providing a dedicated space for collaboration between heroes and evolvers.
As soon as Qin Hao stepped inside, he was greeted by the shouts of many people.
"Recruiting 10 evolvers to hunt level-two evolved monsters, 50 stellar energy diamonds per person!"
"Recruiting 50 evolvers to hunt level-three evolved monsters. The stellar energy diamonds will be split evenly, but I claim the monster's flesh and blood!"
"Are any heroes short of people?"
Because this cooperative model had just been established, market prices had not yet been standardized, and distribution methods varied wildly. It was difficult to find a completely satisfactory team, though this situation would surely change in a few days' time.
The moment Qin Hao walked in, the gazes of all the heroes and evolvers brightened as they turned to look at him.
Could Qin Hao be here to recruit evolvers as well?
Yet, considering Qin Hao's strength, how could he possibly need to recruit evolvers? He was fully capable of annihilating those monsters by himself.
To everyone's surprise, however, Qin Hao indeed came to recruit people, but not evolvers.
"Recruiting 500 level-two evolved heroes and 140 level-three evolved heroes. You won't be required to participate in combat; you simply need to accompany me out. Level-two heroes will receive 500 stellar energy diamonds each, and level-three heroes will receive 2,000 stellar energy diamonds each."
The heroes present fell into deep contemplation upon hearing this.
They knew that a level-two hero typically had to face 20 evolved creatures to earn a final reward of 2,000 stellar energy diamonds; but if their strength fell short and they needed to hire others for assistance, they would have to pay out a portion of those diamonds.
It was even more so for level-three heroes. Slaying all 70 level-three evolved creatures could yield at least 15,000 stellar energy diamonds, but who possessed the capability to slaughter those level-three monsters alone?
A level-three hero wishing to venture out on a hunt required at least 50 level-three evolvers to escort them, resulting in the stellar energy diamonds being split so thinly that an individual might only walk away with 300.
Even though they knew Qin Hao would likely profit much more by taking them along, many people were deeply tempted.
Dozens of level-two heroes stepped forward on the spot to register, and as the news spread, even more heroes learned of the opportunity.
Qin Hao had no time to linger here, so he handed the matter over to Zihui.
"I will be back before the Kaya civilization descends. Take them out; help me gather the personnel."
"I understand. Go ahead!"
Only then did Qin Hao produce the teleportation disc and infuse it with stellar energy diamonds.
A moment later, silver light blossomed, and Qin Hao's figure vanished from the spot.
When he reappeared, Qin Hao had already reached China's border.
He began activating the teleportation disc frantically. After a few successive jumps, the region surrounding him transformed into an expanse of open ocean.
"Roar!"
A long, deafening cry rang out.
A terrifying marine beast broke the surface of the water, its upper body alone measuring a full hundred meters in length.
Qin Hao felt a wave of oppressive aura washing over him.
"A level-four mutated beast."
A thought stirred in Qin Hao's mind as he gazed at the horrifying creature.
Another whale.
Seeming to have detected Qin Hao as well, the whale immediately spouted a pillar of water twenty meters wide, generating a terrifying tsunami intended to engulf him.
Qin Hao's mental tentacles unfurled; wind, fire, water, and earth manifested one after another, subsequently fusing into the power of chaos.
In a split second, the power of chaos struck the whale's head.
At that moment, it was as if a drawing had been abruptly scrubbed with an eraser, wiping away a portion of the image.
The whale's entire head had simply vanished.
The colossal overlord of the ocean thus perished at Qin Hao's hands.
Subsequently, Qin Hao extracted the ambergris from within the whale's body and activated the teleportation disc once more.
After several more shifts, Qin Hao finally set foot on solid ground.
At this point, the biological detector could not only detect hunted creatures but also function as a map.
Qin Hao had arrived within Oceania, specifically on the territory of its largest nation, the Commonwealth of Australia.
Oceania was vast and sparsely populated, with a population of thirty million, yet scanning with the biological detector revealed that only twenty thousand remained.
And even this number was continuing to dwindle.
Qin Hao checked the locations of the invading coalition's intelligent species.
The closest one to him was actually the Ancient Demon race, merely twenty kilometers away.
Qin Hao immediately hurried in that direction.
Gradually, Qin Hao began to spot buildings; he had entered a city in the Commonwealth of Australia.
Scarcely had he entered when Qin Hao was swarmed by a horde of zombies drawn by the scent.
"Ugh, ugh, ugh."
The zombies stretched out their arms, dragging their stiff and rotting bodies as they lunged toward Qin Hao.
Qin Hao's mental tentacles danced through the air, conjuring searing heat and flames to incinerate the zombies.
Wherever Qin Hao passed, the zombies were utterly reduced to ashes.
He extended his mental tentacles further; within their reach, zombies were everywhere. Some had already evolved to level two, while others had undergone further mutation, reaching level-three strength.
Given such a harsh environment, it was hardly surprising that Oceania's population was so scarce and all its heroes had perished.
Qin Hao continued moving forward. Near a plaza ahead, there were over a hundred small green dots representing human beings; these individuals must have been survivors.
Surrounding them were lingering Ancient Demon creatures.
Qin Hao closed in rapidly, stopping just a hundred meters away from the group.
At that moment, he perceived a wave of mental energy.
"Don't kill us! We are willing to submit. Those heroes were all killed by us; we hold the Ancient Demon civilization in the highest reverence and are willing to offer our faith to you."
This burst of mental energy was actually emitted by a human.
