Chapter Ninety-Eight: The Chu Siblings (Please Add to Your Favorites)
When Fang Yujia came into the living room and saw the scene before her, she was badly startled. She had never imagined that Xiao Cheng would do something like this. The girl was Xiao Cheng’s classmate, and the two of them already knew each other; besides, she was very beautiful. There was no reason for him to treat her this way.
Though Fang Yujia disliked the girl, seeing her tormented so miserably still made her feel a little sorry for her.
“Xiao Cheng, stop!” Fang Yujia hurriedly called out. If he kept going, who knew what else might happen? After all, this girl was one of the Chu family.
“Sister Yujia, don’t worry. It’s fine,” Xiao Cheng said over his shoulder.
Fine? At a time like this, he still said it was fine? Her limbs looked as if they had all been broken. Fang Yujia said with concern, “Xiao Cheng, let her go. She’s a girl!”
Xiao Cheng nodded. He had already done more than enough to Chu Feiyu and had no intention of going any further.
What he had done to Chu Feiyu looked dreadful, but in truth it caused little real harm. He had only dislocated several joints; once they were put back in place, she would be able to move again, at most weak and sore for a few days.
Chu Feiyu could not move her arms, could not kick with her legs, and could not speak. Not only had Xiao Cheng lifted her by the chest wrap, he had also spanked her, and now her rear was still raised, with more than half of it exposed. Humiliated to the point of hysteria, her face and ears burned red, and her eyes looked ready to drip water.
She was the precious eldest young lady of the Chu family. When had she ever suffered such disgrace? She had always been proud and competitive, and after being humiliated like this by Xiao Cheng, she was even more indignant. She swore that one day she would trample Xiao Cheng beneath her feet.
Xiao Cheng carried Chu Feiyu outside and went straight to the BMW 760Li parked beside the villa. He opened the rear door and tossed her inside as casually as if throwing out trash.
“Don’t let me see you show up at my home again. Otherwise, I don’t mind leaving you like this for Shu Fu to have his way with. I’m sure he’d be delighted,” Xiao Cheng said coldly.
Lying in the back seat, Chu Feiyu struggled to twist her body, writhing forward like a soft-bodied creature, trying to put more distance between herself and this demon.
Hearing Xiao Cheng’s words, fear surged through her. What had happened today had already shown her that he meant exactly what he said, and she did not doubt his resolve. Yet alongside the fear, there was also a fierce unwillingness.
Looking at Xiao Cheng’s indifferent gaze, and at the large expanse of her exposed skirt that he had not even seemed to notice, not to mention his words about sending her off for Shu Fu to play with, she suddenly began to wonder whether her looks were really so poor. Could it be that even Xiao Cheng, who was usually obsessed with women, found her beneath his notice? Since childhood, everyone had always praised her beauty. Could all those words have been nothing but flattery and indulgence, and she had never truly been pretty at all?
Inside the car, Chu Jinghui had been playing with his phone, using Momo to line up a hookup. It was only when the car body jolted violently that he reacted.
He turned around in astonishment and saw Chu Feiyu lying on the seat, her limbs limp, her face flushed red, her clothes and skirt in utter disarray, looking a wretched mess.
He did not need to guess what had happened. Chu Feiyu had clearly been bullied, and judging from Xiao Cheng’s presence, it had plainly been Xiao Cheng who bullied her. He could not help wondering: had not everyone spread the rumor that Xiao Cheng was a good-for-nothing whose cultivation had been ruined? How could he possibly have bullied Chu Feiyu? He simply should not have had that ability.
Chu Feiyu had been so humiliated by the outcome of her morning spar with Xiao Cheng that she had told no one, so Chu Jinghui had no idea what Xiao Cheng’s true strength was.
Chu Jinghui suppressed his doubts and put on an enraged expression. “Young Master Xiao, what did you do to Feiyu?”
Xiao Cheng gave Chu Jinghui a glance. He knew him; in his previous life, they had even drunk together before. The instant he saw Chu Jinghui, he understood that the Fang family was forcing Sister-in-law Yuer to remarry to him.
He had already been curious about which man in the Chu family had wanted to marry Sister-in-law Yuer.
He knew very well that, although Sister-in-law Yuer was no ordinary person in his heart, in everyone else’s eyes she was simply a beautiful remarried woman. As a secluded cultivation family, the younger generation of the Chu family were all arrogant to the extreme. How could they be willing to marry a woman who had already married before?
That was not him maliciously belittling Sister-in-law Yuer. It was simply the truth.
Now that he saw Chu Jinghui, everything became clear.
Chu Jinghui was a widower who had already lost two wives. For him to marry Sister-in-law Yuer, he would almost certainly not resist too strongly.
And Chu Jinghui was no decent man. Both of his former wives had died by suicide. On the surface, the Chu family explained that the two had quarreled with others and, unable to bear it, taken their own lives. But in reality, that was not the case.
There were rumors that the reason Chu Jinghui’s two wives had killed themselves was that Chu Jinghui had wanted to curry favor with someone and had offered his own wives up for that person’s amusement, which led to their suicides.
If the Fang family had been forcing Sister-in-law Yuer to marry someone else, Xiao Cheng might still have considered asking her opinion. If she truly had feelings for that man, he had no reason to stand in the way of her happiness. But the one who wanted to marry her was this beast, Chu Jinghui.
Since it was Chu Jinghui, there was no need to ask Sister-in-law Yuer’s opinion. He had already decided that he would never allow her to remarry Chu Jinghui. Even if Sister-in-law Yuer herself were willing, he would not allow it.
As for what right he had to forbid it, or what reason he had to stop it—when had he ever cared about reason? He only did what he believed was right. As for what others thought, he did not care.
“I hit her, and I took her apart. So what?” Xiao Cheng said coldly, looking at Chu Jinghui.
Although Chu Jinghui looked furious and intimidating, and if they truly fought Xiao Cheng was very likely no match for him, Xiao Cheng did not take that anger to heart.
Would a man like Chu Jinghui, who could even disregard his own wife in order to please someone else, really make an enemy of him over a cousin? Of course not.
“You...” Chu Jinghui had thought that at the very least Xiao Cheng would be wary after being berated by him, but he had never expected Xiao Cheng to take such an attitude: I hit her, I hit her, and what are you going to do about it?
It was not that he dared not do anything to Xiao Cheng, nor that he was worried about Xiao Cheng’s strength. It was simply that offending Xiao Cheng over a cousin brought him no benefit whatsoever. Not only was there no benefit, there were even drawbacks. How could he possibly do something so foolish?
“Our Chu family will not let this go!” Chu Jinghui said bitterly.
Xiao Cheng smiled. As expected, Chu Jinghui would do nothing to him. As for those harsh words, he did not take them seriously either. In the cartoon his little sister loved to watch, that wolf always said, “I’ll be back.” Losers and cowards always had the right to say harsh things.
“Finished?” Xiao Cheng said calmly. “If you are, then get lost. And from now on, don’t come here to bother my sister-in-law again.”
With that, he turned and left. After saying all this, Chu Jinghui could hardly stay outside the villa any longer and make a fool of himself.
Watching Xiao Cheng’s departing figure, Chu Jinghui let out a contemptuous laugh. He had never expected that the Xiao family’s ruined-cultivation wastrel would actually try to stop this marriage alliance. The three families had joined forces to make this union happen; even he could not refuse it. Xiao Cheng’s attempt to stop it was no different from an ant trying to shake a tree—utterly beyond his station.
Only after laughing did he turn back to look at Chu Feiyu. To see the Chu family’s eldest young lady, who had been cherished by so many, reduced to such a state truly made a fallen phoenix worse than a chicken. Looking at her like this, he could not help feeling a dark thrill of satisfaction.
Though Chu Jinghui felt delighted inside, he could not simply stand by. He went to the back seat and, after a flurry of awkward movements, finally “assembled” Chu Feiyu again.
Once control of her limbs returned, Chu Feiyu let out a long breath. She moved her hands and feet; her joints hurt, and she had no strength at all. Clearly, her ligaments had been strained, and she would need at least a week of rest to recover.
Right then, she truly wanted to kill Xiao Cheng. Not only had he dislocated her limbs, he had also hit her backside in the end. It was simply unforgivable.
Her rear still burned with a searing pain. She frowned, then suddenly felt a warm trickle flowing out from within. Turning her head to look, she saw a patch of crimson spreading beneath her white skirt, rapidly growing larger.
She was bleeding!
Chu Feiyu’s heart jolted. How could she be bleeding?
Through the rearview mirror, Chu Jinghui saw that the lower part of Chu Feiyu’s white skirt had turned red and asked, “Feiyu, what’s wrong?”
“No, no! It’s nothing. It’s just my cycle,” Chu Feiyu stammered, unable to sit still.
Her cycle? But she clearly remembered that her last period had only come ten days ago. This was absolutely not that. But if it was not that, then what was it? Could it have been from Xiao Cheng’s slap?
Though she was filled with confusion, she could only bury the question in her heart and dared not bring it up to anyone.
