Chapter 34: The Annihilation of the Li Family
“The ones who annihilated your entire Li clan…” One of the men spoke coldly, his tone brimming with murderous intent. True energy surged from his body, gathering into the long blade in his hand. The other two were equally unyielding; their overwhelming auras crashed forth like tidal waves. In an instant, wild true energy condensed upon the Tang swords they wielded, the icy blades gleaming ominously.
Damn those of the Li clan for sending them to kill their young master. If the totem on the young master’s body hadn’t appeared, their young master would have already fallen by their hands. Now, they wanted every last one of the Li clan wiped out, not even a dog or chicken left alive, to vanish from the world forever.
Li Ningwen sneered inwardly, his gaze full of mockery as his own aura rose violently. “Just the likes of you? Do you really think you stand a chance? Don’t forget, this is Mutian City—a place where killing is forbidden.”
Behind him, the elite of the Li family’s upper ranks burned with fury in their eyes, gripping their weapons tightly as they glared at their enemies. They didn’t know who these people were, but their intentions were clearly hostile, and they were slaughtering members of the Li clan. They had no choice but to proceed with utmost caution.
A cold laugh echoed, “For you, the cities where humans live are places where fighting is forbidden. If you wish to brawl, you must go to the arena. But for us, such rules are meaningless. Besides, don’t forget, your Li family’s defensive array is already activated.”
The black-robed man in the center sneered, his Tang sword glinting with a chilling light.
At those words, Li Ningwen and the others’ faces darkened, their eyes narrowing as they stared into the cold glimmers cast by their adversaries. With the defensive array raised, no one could enter or leave, isolating them completely from the outside world. Not a sound would escape, and the formation could only be opened from within. They could not fathom who had activated the formation, trapping them in this predicament.
“You two deal with the others. This one is mine—I’ll personally take his head.” With a cold command, the man charged at Li Ningwen, sword in hand.
“Yes!” came the equally cold response. The other two swung their Tang swords, launching themselves at the seven or eight people behind Li Ningwen. Their leader would handle the strongest—these weaklings were left to them.
Tonight, they would leave nothing alive in the Li clan. Not a single blade of grass, not even a fly would escape.
“Kill!”
…
The next morning, beneath the pavilion, Qin Lang and his companions watched as Liu Man and Hua Manlou returned, their faces clouded and uncertain. A ripple of confusion passed through the group.
Hadn’t Liu Man and the others gone out to gather information? Why had they returned so quickly?
Qin Lang spoke first, “Brother Liu, you
