"Ouch~"

Hearing this, Hua Manlou's eyes lit up, his gaze filled with awe as he looked at Qin Lang. "Wonderful, truly wonderful! Brother Qin, you are simply my idol!"

As he said this, he raised several thumbs in admiration.

He had thought Qin Lang was all talk, but now it seemed he was a master of verbal sparring—one whose words could cut to the bone.

He wondered why he hadn’t met this fellow sooner.

"Brother Hua, you flatter me. I was merely speaking the truth."

After a few modest words, Qin Lang turned to Hua Manlou, a sly smile playing at his lips. "Brother Hua, when will you take me to meet the young ladies?"

"What?"

"Meet the young ladies?" Hua Manlou was dumbfounded, staring blankly at Qin Lang. "Brother Qin, why do you want to meet the young ladies? Don’t tell me your sister is here?"

Qin Lang had a sister in this city? Why didn’t he know anything about it?

Seeing his companion’s misunderstanding, Qin Lang nearly cursed aloud. Luckily, he was magnanimous and didn’t take it to heart, instead smiling warmly.

"Brother Hua, the ‘young ladies’ I speak of aren’t my sister, but the girls at Misty Rain Pavilion. You know what I mean~" Halfway through his words, Qin Lang winked, as if asking, "So, when will you take me?"

Pfft!

Wine sprayed from Hua Manlou’s mouth as he stared at Qin Lang in shock.

Damn~

This guy’s words were so full of hidden meaning, impossible to grasp.

Hua Manlou was completely floored, seeing this young man in a new light.

He really was an ordinary man, but a cultured rogue!

Seeing this, Qin Lang was a little annoyed. "Brother Hua, you’re not toying with me, are you?"

"Ah!" Snapping back to his senses, Hua Manlou put on a serious face. "Listen to yourself! Am I that kind of person?"

"Brother Liu and the others aren’t back yet. We can’t go to Misty Rain Pavilion tonight—we’ll have to wait until tomorrow."

After shaking his head, Hua Manlou looked Qin Lang up and down. "Brother Qin, as a mere mortal, can you really handle the girls at Misty Rain Pavilion?"

It wasn’t that he looked down on Qin Lang, but he honestly couldn’t help it.

An ordinary man wanting to visit Misty Rain Pavilion? Was that not courting death?

Even though the girls at Misty Rain Pavilion were weak cultivators, they were cultivators nonetheless.

With his frail body, he’d probably go in standing and come out on a stretcher.

Smack!

Feeling the disdain, Qin Lang slammed his palm on the round table. "Brother Hua, don’t look at me like that. I’m a man of great stamina—I always go in standing and come out standing."

"What?" Hua Manlou was all question marks, staring in confusion. "Once a night for seven nights?"

Qin Lang: "???"

His face darkened, and for a moment he wanted to challenge Hua Manlou right then and there.

If not for his lack of strength, he would have done so, just to prove himself.

Was this idiot brainless?

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Qin Lang said, "It’s seven times a night, not once a night for seven nights. Brother Hua, even if I’m a mere mortal, you shouldn’t look down on me like that."

"Hehe~" Hua Manlou chuckled awkwardly and shook his head. "Qin Lang, it’s not that I don’t believe you, but it’s hard to trust a mortal with such claims."

Qin Lang: "..."

Enough, there was no point arguing further.

But thinking about it, it was true—mortals could never satisfy immortals.

If he were still just a mortal, walking into Misty Rain Pavilion would be a one-way trip—he’d probably leave as a corpse.

Dying under the peony is still a romantic death, but he was still young and wanted to enjoy life...

"Haha~"

"Hua Manlou, why are you so concerned? If he wants to go, take him! Let him experience earthly pleasures." Su Momo’s voice was dripping with scorn as she looked at Qin Lang, her eyes full of disdain and disgust.

"Given how pathetic he looks, he’d probably faint at the first touch from a girl—or even drop dead on the spot."

Qin Lang was unbothered by her sarcasm. "Miss Su, since you doubt me so much, how about I give you a first-hand experience and see who lasts longer?"

With that, Qin Lang stood up, faced her, and struck a poised and suggestive stance.

Though his movements were graceful enough to draw applause, Su Momo’s face turned frosty, her brows flashing with murderous intent as she drew her longsword...

Sensing the chill of her blade, Qin Lang instantly dropped the act and hurried to sit beside Hua Manlou.

Hua Manlou watched the scene unfold, completely bewildered, scarcely believing his eyes.

"Hmph!"

"If you ever show such disrespect again, I’ll make sure you lose your ‘third leg’!"

Just then, Liu Man and the others returned. Su Momo snorted coldly, turned, and left, leaving behind an icy warning.

Hearing this, and feeling the lingering chill, Qin Lang swallowed nervously and swore to himself: this woman is not to be provoked—best to avoid antagonizing her altogether.

Otherwise, there’d be more pain than pleasure.

Noticing Su Momo’s departure, Liu Man looked confusedly at the two men. "What’s going on? Why did Momo storm off the moment she saw us?"

"Ahem..." Qin Lang coughed awkwardly. "It was an accident, purely an accident. I only teased her a little, and she left in a huff."

Liu Man gave him a wily grin. "Brother Qin, tell me honestly—did you really just tease her a little, or were you charming her with your roguish flair?"

"Hehe~"

Qin Lang could only laugh awkwardly, saying nothing more.

He had indeed been flirtatious, both in words and in his elegant gestures.

But he hadn’t expected her to react so fiercely, drawing her sword and aiming straight at his lower half.

Just then, Hua Manlou, who had been drinking quietly, spoke up. "Brother Liu, you were out for a while. Did you uncover any important information?"

Liu Man sat heavily on the stone stool, his expression grave. "According to our investigation, that enchanting demoness left Muchen City as soon as she learned of our arrival. As for where she’s gone, it’s still a complete mystery."

The demoness hiding in Muchen City was gone; she must have caught wind of something or sensed danger, so she fled in haste.

They had hoped to catch her by tracking her lair, but now it seemed that was no longer possible...

Wang Zimo went to sit on the long bench nearby, his face equally grim, looking unwell.
