“Brother Qin, if you’re curious about the Demon Hunters, when we reach Muchen City, you’ll have the chance to learn about them in detail.”

Hearing this, Qin Lang was instantly bewildered, his face full of confusion. “Brother Liu, why is that? Is the headquarters of the Demon Hunters in Muchen City?”

Liu Man smiled calmly, “The headquarters isn’t in Muchen City, but there is a branch of the Demon Hunters there.”

With Liu Man’s explanation, Qin Lang roughly understood why the other wanted him to learn about the Demon Hunters in Muchen City. It was better to go straight to a branch than to hear secondhand accounts.

“Brother Liu, forgive my boldness, but do you know where the headquarters of the Demon Hunters is?” Qin Lang asked, curiosity piqued.

Liu Man was momentarily stunned, looking puzzled. “Why do you want to know that?”

Realizing the other’s hesitation, Qin Lang quickly replied, “I’m just curious, that’s all. If it’s inconvenient for you to tell me, it’s no matter.”

He hadn’t really expected an answer anyway. After all, as far as they were concerned, he was just an ordinary mortal—what business did he have asking so much?

But Liu Man answered cheerfully, not minding Qin Lang’s status. “No one knows where the headquarters is. Even if someone does, it’s only a very select few, and they are the supreme powerhouses of the Supreme Heaven Realm.”

Qin Lang was left utterly at a loss, his mind a whirl. “Brother Liu, even the Demon Hunters themselves don’t know?”

Liu Man shook his head with a wry smile. “Not only do they not know, I fear even the Heavenly-ranked Demon Hunters aren’t aware.”

Qin Lang stood rooted to the spot, unable to make sense of it. After a moment’s careful thought, though, he realized that it made sense for the location to be shrouded in secrecy. To humans, the Demon Hunters were heroes, but to the demon clans, they were objects of hatred, enemies to be eradicated if only their headquarters could be found.

“Don’t overthink it, Brother Qin,” Liu Man said with a smile. “When we get to Muchen City, I’ll take you to enjoy yourself and let you experience the pleasures of the world firsthand.”

Time passed swiftly; half a month later, they arrived at Muchen City.

Qin Lang stared dazedly at the magnificent city before him, clouds drifting by, spiritual energy swirling about, immortal ships gliding past, cranes soaring overhead, the ancient city looming like a primordial beast. Awe and admiration filled his heart. Just from the towering city walls, he could tell the city was vast—no smaller than the capital of the Grand Xia Immortal Dynasty, Xia Du. Of course, he’d never actually been inside Xia Du—he’d only seen its walls—so he had no idea about its internal structure or prosperity.

Descending from the sky on their swords, Hua Manlou approached with a gentle smile. “Qin Lang, what do you think of this city? Anything catch your eye?”

Before Qin Lang could answer, Liu Man cut in, “Enough talk, let’s get inside and see if we can find out where that enchantress is hiding.”

Without further ado, Liu Man led Wang Zimo and Su Momo through the wide-open gates.

Qin Lang hurried after them, not intending to linger. Hua Manlou forced a bitter smile but quickly followed the group.

Passing through the gates, they were greeted by a sea of people. Elegant and lofty pavilions, exquisitely decorated, rose like pillars to the heavens. Struck by the sudden spectacle, Qin Lang rubbed his eyes hard, wondering if he was dreaming. But it was real—the world of cultivation was truly marvelous. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he’d have thought he was in a game.

Slap! Slap!

Seeing Qin Lang frozen in place, Hua Manlou stepped over and clapped him on the shoulder. “Don’t just stand there, Brother Qin. Let’s find a place to stay and get some rest. Tomorrow night, I’ll take you out for a good time.”

Qin Lang’s eyes lit up, excitement plain to see. “Brother Hua, are you serious? Don’t tease me.”

Slap! Slap!

Hua Manlou thumped his chest, swearing earnestly, “Have I ever lied to you? If I don’t take you out tomorrow night, I’ll write my name backwards!”

Qin Lang grinned wickedly, flashing a roguish smile; none know me better than a fellow philanderer.

Meanwhile, Su Momo shot them a look of deep disdain, as if disgusted by their talk, convinced these men thought of nothing but brothels.

Unbeknownst to them, as they entered the city, a pair of eyes watched from the shadows, observing their every move—especially Qin Lang, who drew the stranger’s intense attention.

Sensing someone’s gaze, Qin Lang paused, glancing all around, but saw no one. “Did I imagine it?” he murmured, shaking his head. He quickly caught up with the group, eyes roaming curiously, eager to take in all the new sights.

Before long, Liu Man and the others rented a courtyard. It was expensive—five thousand top-grade spirit stones a month—but the expenses would be covered by the Sky Guard, so they didn’t need to pay out of pocket.

Staring dumbfounded at the spacious courtyard, Qin Lang’s mind raced; his blood boiled with excitement and shock. The courtyard was enormous, the size of two football fields—no wonder it was so costly.

After rooms were assigned and everyone gathered, Liu Man smiled and said, “You all stay here for now. Zimo and I are going out. Unless something urgent happens, don’t show yourselves.”

“Yes!”

Having given his instructions, Liu Man left with Wang Zimo, leaving Qin Lang and the others behind.

After a brief chat, Qin Lang yawned and excused himself, heading for his room. Though he claimed he was going to sleep, that wasn’t his real purpose; he’d heard the voice of Milk Candy in his ear, calling for him.

Once inside the elegant pavilion, Qin Lang dove onto the bed and drifted off. When Milk Candy’s voice came again, he slowly opened his eyes, sat up, and looked around until his gaze landed on Milk Candy.

“What’s so urgent, Milk Candy?”

Floating in the air, Milk Candy looked at him in exasperation. “Can’t I look for you if there’s nothing urgent?”

Qin Lang shook his head. “That’s not it, but if it’s not important, you shouldn’t bother me.”

Milk Candy’s forehead twitched in annoyance. “Hey, I’m a spirit beast, you know! Why don’t you want to see me?”

Qin Lang waved his hand dismissively, unconcerned. “Let’s get to the point. Don’t waste time. What’s so urgent that you had to find me?”
