After the group gathered together, they began chatting among themselves once more, recounting everything that had happened during their battles with their respective illusions. The atmosphere was quite lively.
Meanwhile, more and more people completed the first stage and emerged from their rooms.
When they saw the crowd gathered there, those who had come out also walked over, and gradually, more and more people assembled.
As Lei Fan explained things to everyone, he looked up and noticed the crowd that had gathered around them. He then glanced toward the rooms and saw that only a few doors remained closed. After thinking for a moment, he came up with an idea.
Turning back, Lei Fan looked at everyone and said, “Everyone, quiet down for a moment.”
At his words, the crowd fell silent and looked at him in confusion.
Seeing that everyone had quieted down, Lei Fan said directly, “Most of you have already come out, so let’s pause here for now. Once the remaining students emerge, we’ll continue.”
Everyone nodded to show that they understood.
After saying this, Lei Fan fell silent. He turned toward the remaining rooms and pondered quietly, as though calculating something.
After a while, he nodded and thought to himself, It should be about time.
And as if his thought possessed some kind of magic, the doors of the remaining rooms suddenly opened the instant his inner voice faded. One after another, the people inside came out.
When they saw the crowd already gathered, they hurried over.
Once they had all arrived, Lei Fan smiled and said, “Good. It looks like everyone else has passed successfully as well. Everyone, take your seats.”
At his words, the crowd dispersed and sat down on the nearby chairs.
After hearing Lei Fan, Ye Junze and the others exchanged glances, nodded, and took seats beside one another.
Seeing that everyone had settled down obediently, Lei Fan nodded in satisfaction and said, “Now, I ask that everyone remain quiet and listen carefully to what I have to say.”
Everyone nodded and, with remarkable understanding, maintained complete silence.
A smile tugged at the corners of Lei Fan’s lips, but he quickly suppressed it.
Then, with a solemn expression, he said, “First of all, congratulations to all of you for passing the first stage of our practical combat class. At this moment, I feel it is only proper to offer you a round of applause.”
As he spoke, Lei Fan began clapping for everyone.
The students looked somewhat at a loss. Then, someone began applauding, and the others quickly followed suit.

Lei Fan applauded from the platform while the students below returned his applause. For a moment, it looked like a harmonious scene between teacher and students.
Lei Fan smiled, then pressed both hands downward to signal that they should stop. Seeing this, the crowd gradually lowered their hands and fell silent.
Once the applause had ceased, Lei Fan continued, “Now, let me point out some of the problems that appeared during the first stage.”
At his words, everyone straightened up and grew solemn. After all, he was discussing problems concerning them personally, so naturally they could not help but pay close attention.
Seeing their expressions, Lei Fan nodded in satisfaction and continued, “First, there is a problem common to all of you. It was obvious at a glance that you have had very little experience fighting others. For many of you, today’s battle may even have been your first. Your movements were stiff and unfamiliar, which was why fighting your own illusions felt so difficult. Of course, this is understandable. You have only just embarked on the path of cultivation. Once you gain more experience, you will naturally become accustomed to it.”
Many people nodded when they heard this. The problem Lei Fan had mentioned truly existed, and a great number of them had just experienced it firsthand.
Lei Fan continued without pause. “So, for now, I can only offer you a few minor techniques. How you apply them in actual combat will depend entirely on your own understanding.”
At this, everyone’s eyes lit up, and they pricked up their ears. These were methods that could improve their strength, so naturally they were eager to hear them.
No one wanted to experience defeat. Nor did anyone want to watch everyone around them grow stronger while they alone remained stuck in place without the slightest improvement.
Lei Fan spoke slowly. “When fighting someone at your current level, do not burden yourselves with unnecessary thoughts. Treat the person before you as an enemy you must defeat, and use every means necessary to win. Whether you employ a somewhat underhanded trick or throw your punches openly and honestly, you must ensure that every attack causes damage to your opponent.
“Earlier, all of you hesitated too much when making your moves. You were inflexible, thinking only about avoiding injury while trying to harm your opponent. That way of thinking will absolutely not work when you face a true enemy in the future. In a life-and-death battle, your opponent will be trying to kill you. If you still intend to hold back then, it will already be too late.”
“The first thing I want to teach you is this: maximize the damage caused by every attack. Mobilize every ounce of strength in your body, and do not hesitate. If you can do that, you will achieve twice the result with half the effort.
“Your attacks earlier were too scattered. Your strength was dispersed, so you could not inflict any substantial damage. That brings us to the second point: whenever you attack, concentrate your strength at a single point and strike toward one target. Do not spread it out. You must have the mindset that once you throw a punch, your opponent will not be walking away unscathed.
“Even if it means injuring your enemy by a thousand while suffering eight hundred injuries yourself, it does not matter. Advance without hesitation and simply throw your punch. If you can think that way, your opponent may already be overwhelmed by your momentum. By then, you will have gained a certain advantage.”
After finishing, Lei Fan added in a deep voice, “Those are the only two points I wish to make for now. I hope everyone can master them. That way, you will not find combat as difficult as you did earlier, and these lessons should prove helpful to you.”
After listening, everyone fell into thought, carefully considering the meaning behind Lei Fan’s words.
The problems he had described had indeed been common among them during the battle. The main reason was that, for many of those present, this had been their first true fight. As a result, all kinds of weaknesses had been exposed.
Lei Fan had gone straight to the heart of the matter. Based on their performance, he had offered two extremely practical techniques for their current level. If they could truly master these methods and apply them in future battles, the improvement to their strength would far exceed anything they had imagined. The only question was how long it would take them to use those techniques skillfully.
Ye Junze also fell into quiet thought after hearing Lei Fan. Although Lei Fan had given him some individual guidance earlier, Ye Junze was accustomed to reflecting carefully on everything. He did not assume that he had no problems simply because Lei Fan had not mentioned those two shortcomings in his case.
As Ye Junze recalled his battle with his own illusion, he realized that his strength had indeed been somewhat scattered in certain moments. If he had been able to concentrate it as Lei Fan had described, the result would certainly have exceeded his expectations.
At this thought, delight appeared in Ye Junze’s eyes.
Perhaps I can master the two techniques Teacher mentioned very soon.
Ye Junze remembered the second stage that Lei Fan had mentioned at the beginning of class.
Perhaps I should give it a try during the second stage.

At this thought, Ye Junze could not help rubbing his fists together, anticipation appearing in his eyes. He looked as though he wanted the second stage to begin immediately.
Seeing that everyone was deep in thought, Lei Fan did not hurry them. His eyes were profound, and no one knew what he was thinking.
Then, as though he had suddenly remembered something, Lei Fan looked at the crowd and said, “During the first stage, Ye Junze’s performance was quite impressive. That is why he was the first person to emerge from his room. I hope everyone will learn from him. Let’s give him a round of applause.”
Ye Junze quickly looked up at Lei Fan, his eyes filled with helplessness.
The others were also somewhat surprised when they heard this. However, compared with before, their surprise was much less pronounced. They seemed almost accustomed to it. Perhaps they would have been more shocked if the first person had not been Ye Junze.
Regardless of what they were thinking, everyone obediently followed Lei Fan’s instruction and applauded in Ye Junze’s direction.
Although Ye Junze felt helpless, he did not know what else to do. He stood up, politely bowed, and thanked everyone for their applause.
Lei Fan smiled even more contentedly at this, apparently having thought of something else that pleased him.
He raised both hands and pressed them down, signaling that everyone could stop.
Once the applause had ended, Lei Fan continued, “If any of you have questions or encounter difficulties in your cultivation, you can also seek advice from Ye Junze. I don’t think he will refuse.”
At the end, Lei Fan turned toward Ye Junze and asked, “Am I right, Ye Junze?”
Ye Junze smiled helplessly at him, then turned to the others and said, “Of course. Don’t hesitate—if you have any questions, come to me. After all, I’ve said as much before.”
The moment they heard this, the others could no longer hold back and burst into laughter. Among them, Li Ling, Yun Tianhan, Fan Yan, and Lu Renjia, who were seated beside Ye Junze, laughed the loudest.
Li Ling, in particular, wore an unmistakably mischievous expression as he looked at Ye Junze and said, “In that case, Ye Junze, I happen to have a question right now. I hope you won’t hesitate to enlighten me.”
Ye Junze shot him an exasperated look, raised his middle finger, and said, “Get lost.”
The group naturally burst into another round of laughter.
Lei Fan did not mind their teasing. After all, they had just gone through such an intense battle. It was only right to let them relax a little.
After a while, Lei Fan waved his hand and said, “All right. The second stage is about to begin. Adjust yourselves and rest for a while.”
At his words, everyone nodded and began making their preparations.
