Kong Qing led the group in another direction. Only then did they realize that behind the research institute building stood another structure. This building was connected to the institute by a passageway, and after passing through it, they arrived at a new area.

Along the way, Kong Qing explained, "This building is where everyone at the institute comes to rest. It’s fully equipped with all kinds of recreational facilities. If you need anything, feel free to explore on your own."

The group nodded in acknowledgment.

Seeing their response, Kong Qing fell silent and continued leading them forward.

They passed through several corridors, during which the group caught sight of the various entertainment facilities Kong Qing had mentioned: a gym, amusement park, cinema, game arcade, and many others. According to Kong Qing, these were just a portion of what was available; more facilities existed elsewhere, but since they were pressed for time, he hadn’t brought them there. They could visit later on their own if they wished.

Listening to Kong Qing’s introduction, the group once again marveled inwardly at the sheer scale and strength of the Mi Hai Research Institute.

After passing through the recreational areas, Kong Qing finally brought them to the resting quarters.

He stopped and said, “Here we are.”

Ye Junze and the others halted, looking up at the simple, ordinary-looking rooms before them. These were clearly meant solely for rest.

Noticing their expressions, Kong Qing continued, “These rooms are unoccupied. Feel free to choose whichever you like.”

The group nodded and sincerely thanked him, “Thank you, Doctor.”

Kong Qing waved his hand and replied, “Go ahead and select your rooms. Once you’ve made your choices, I’ll set up password verification for each.”

Wenyu smiled and said playfully, “Hehe, then I won’t be polite.”

Glancing around, Wenyu nodded as if she had already picked her room and walked toward one in the middle.

Standing outside it, she said cheekily, “Then I’ll take this one.”

Kong Qing smiled, “Of course, as long as you like it.”

Ye Junze and Qi Yi exchanged a glance, smiling, then strode over to Wenyu’s side, each selecting a room adjacent to hers—one on the left, the other on the right—seemingly to watch over her.

“Doctor, we’ve both chosen,” Ye Junze and Qi Yi said in unison.

Kong Qing nodded, “Alright, I’ll set up the passwords for you now.”

The group agreed without objection.

Kong Qing stepped forward and performed some operation on the doors. Soon, a familiar blue projection appeared on each of their doors.

The three exchanged puzzled looks, uncertain of what was happening.

Kong Qing quickly clarified, “Next, place your palm on the projection and keep your eyes fixed on it.”

Following his instructions, they complied.

A familiar electronic voice rang out: “Fingerprint and iris scan successful. Password generated.”

Hearing this, Kong Qing nodded with obvious satisfaction.

“Now that the passwords are set, you may move in,” he said.

“Thank you, Doctor,” they replied in unison.

Ye Junze added, “You’ve really gone out of your way for us today, Doctor—rescuing us and running around so much.”

Kong Qing waved dismissively, “It’s nothing important. Well then, I have some lab work to attend to, so I’ll take my leave. Make yourselves at home.”

“Alright, thank you, Doctor,” Ye Junze responded.

Wenyu sweetly chimed, “Be careful on your way, Uncle Doctor,” waving her small hand.

Qi Yi also said, “Goodbye, Doctor.”

Kong Qing waved and turned away.

After watching him leave, Ye Junze said, “Well, we’ve had enough excitement for one day. Let’s get some rest. We can deal with anything else later.”

“Yes, we’ll follow your lead, senior,” Qi Yi replied.

Wenyu smiled, “Good night, Brother Qi, Brother Junze. I’m going to sleep now—I’m exhausted.”

The two smiled back and wished her good night.

After exchanging a few more words, they each opened their doors and stepped inside.

When Ye Junze tried to open his door, it was firmly shut. Then, a palm-shaped mark appeared on the door. Noticing it, Ye Junze placed his hand on the mark. With a click, the door unlocked and swung open.

He shook his head with a smile, evidently amused by something.

Entering the room, Ye Junze looked around.

Aside from the bed, the room was stocked with various household and daily essentials—everything one could need. It truly felt like a warm, cozy home. After a moment of inspection, satisfaction spread across his face.

He nodded slightly and withdrew his gaze.

“I’ve been in this dream for several days now, haven’t I? I wonder how much time has passed outside,” Ye Junze murmured to himself.

He shook his head and said, “No matter. I should get cleaned up first.”

With that, he headed to the washroom.

Meanwhile, outside, Fang Lin, who was monitoring Ye Junze, noticed his intention and blushed deeply.

She scolded softly, “This guy’s already in a dream, and he’s still so particular about cleanliness! Oh well, I’ll just stop watching him and check on the others.”

She touched her still-flushed cheeks, then shifted her gaze to observe other dreamers through the crystal ball.

Ye Junze, of course, remained unaware of this little intrusion. Had he known he was being watched, even nearly seen in his physical form, who knows how he might have felt?

After quickly washing up and dressing, Ye Junze returned from the washroom and lay down on his bed.

Flicking his fingers, he felt the lingering flow of spiritual energy at his fingertips, finally easing his mind. During the spaceship accident, being unable to use his energy had unsettled him greatly. So, upon waking, the first thing he did was activate his energy. Only when he sensed it flowing as normally as before did his heart relax. After testing repeatedly to ensure no issues, he finally allowed himself to think about other matters.

He reflected on everything that had happened since entering this dream: breaking through to the Nascent Soul stage, meeting Qi Yi and his sister, defeating the Dao Tian Gang, arriving at the Shangyang Continent, the spaceship accident, and then being rescued by Kong Qing and the others to the place they now called Yizhu. In just a few short days, so much had occurred—experiences unlike any in his previous life. Both perilous and fantastical, surrounded by a group of genuinely kind-hearted people.

Muttering to himself, Ye Junze said, “What an interesting world this is.”

“But it’s still just a dream. I wonder when I can leave,” he sighed, frowning.

Then he shook his head. “Well, whatever will be, will be. When it’s time to leave, I will. For now, I’ll just sleep and figure things out later.”

With that, he closed his eyes and drifted off.

As Ye Junze fell asleep, it was as if some unseen force heard his words. The space around him suddenly began to distort. Everything flickered between clarity and blurriness, as if about to dissolve.

When the distortion reached its peak, a fierce storm erupted, sweeping up everything nearby—including Ye Junze, who remained sound asleep on his bed, unaware. Just before he vanished, an indistinct mark transformed into a streak of light that flew toward him, then disappeared.

When the storm subsided, everything returned to normal—except Ye Junze was gone from the bed, while all else remained intact.

...

Outside, Fang Lin, who had been continuously observing the dreamers, seemed to sense something. She set down the crystal ball and looked ahead.

She then saw Ye Junze suddenly sit up and open his eyes.

His gaze was dazed as he looked around, seemingly forgetting something. After a moment of thought, clarity returned to his eyes as he realized where he was.

At the same time, Fang Lin’s voice called out, “Ye Junze, you’re awake?”

Hearing this, Ye Junze turned toward her and nodded slowly.

Fang Lin walked over, but upon seeing him, her face suddenly flushed once more, as though recalling something.

Noticing her odd behavior, Ye Junze asked, “Teacher, are you alright?”

Fang Lin shook her head. “It’s nothing,” she replied, though the redness lingered on her cheeks.

Though puzzled, Ye Junze didn’t press further since she said it was nothing.

After a moment’s thought, he said, “Teacher, I have some questions about this dream projection. I hope you can help me understand.”

Fang Lin’s expression grew serious, and the redness on her face faded somewhat.

Thinking he might have encountered problems she hadn’t seen, she asked, “What questions? Feel free to ask. If I can help, I’ll tell you everything.”

Ye Junze’s eyes brightened. “Thank you very much, Teacher.”

Fang Lin waved her hand, signaling it was no trouble, then said, “Alright, go ahead. I’m curious to know what kind of problems a genius like you has encountered.”
