"Divine Doctor Su, please don't misunderstand me. I'm not here to ask you for a favor, but rather to give you something. I sincerely hope you will accept it!" As Li Yanze spoke, he picked up an exquisitely wrapped gift box from the coffee table. "Divine Doctor Su, this is just a token of my appreciation. You once saved my father's life, which is an immense favor to me. But I've been busy lately and haven't had the chance to thank you in person. Since I have this opportunity today, I wanted to give you this gift myself!"

Su Zheng frowned slightly, unsure of what scheme Li Yanze was up to.

Seeing Su Zheng's suspicious expression, Li Yanze quickly smiled and opened the gift box, taking out a ring from inside.

"Divine Doctor Su, I came across this little trinket by chance during my recent business trip. It's not worth much, but I wanted to give it to you as a small token of gratitude. Please, do not refuse."

Seeing Su Zheng's expression soften, Li Yanze continued, "Divine Doctor Su, I know you and your wife are still getting used to each other. I'm a few years older than you and have learned a thing or two over the years. Women, well, they need to be coaxed. If you give your wife a small gift, it might have an unexpectedly good effect, haha..."

"Please, you must accept it. If you don't like it, I'll prepare something else for you."

Li Yanze looked at Su Zheng with a sincere smile.

Su Zheng considered it for a moment and felt there was some truth to Li Yanze's words. He had never given Chen Muxue a gift before, and thought it might be nice to surprise her.

With this in mind, Su Zheng did not refuse, but instead of taking the gift box, he slipped the ring directly into his pocket and nodded his thanks to Li Yanze.

They exchanged a few more words, but since the banquet was about to begin, Su Zheng didn’t linger and excused himself.

"Divine Doctor Su? I was looking everywhere for you and didn't expect to run into you here," Li Yanjun greeted him just as he came out.

Su Zheng nodded with a smile. "Is there something you need?"

"It's nothing major. My father wanted me to ask your opinion about seating you at the main banquet table. Would that be convenient for you?" Li Yanjun asked politely.

The Li family was always attentive to customs and details. Since Su Zheng came with his family, they were concerned that moving him to the main table alone might make him uncomfortable. So Li Yanjun was sent to ask in advance.

"No need," Su Zheng replied without hesitation. "Go back and tell the old master to keep things low-key. I'd rather sit with my family—it's more relaxed that way. You know I prefer peace and quiet."

He had no interest in faking pleasantries with strangers at the main table; it would only tire him.

"Very well, Divine Doctor Su, as you wish! I'll let my father know," Li Yanjun nodded quickly. After speaking with Su Zheng, he was about to leave when he saw his elder brother, Li Yanze, walk out of the room.

He paused for a moment but kept his smile as he hurried away.

As he walked, Li Yanjun was now certain that his older brother was secretly currying favor with Su Zheng. Not wanting to miss his own opportunity, he began to strategize as he made his way toward Li Jiangcheng's room.

"What did the Li family want with you?" Chen Muxue asked curiously when Su Zheng returned.

"Nothing important. I healed their father, and they just wanted to thank me in person," Su Zheng replied, smiling, though he didn't tell the whole truth.

He didn't want Muxue to guess that the gift he planned to give her came from the Li family; that would seem too casual.

"Honestly, Su Zheng, aren't you a bit too bold? Treating the old master of the Li family—don't take on such cases again, understand?" Chen Muxue's delicate face was serious as she warned him.

Su Zheng smiled and nodded, saying nothing more.

At that moment, applause broke out from the front of the hall. Su Zheng looked up and saw that Old Master Li Jiangcheng had appeared.

"Old Master Li, you look so well! Wishing you a long, long life!"

"Old Master, your complexion is enviable—I'm almost jealous, haha!"

"May your blessings and longevity continue, and with a divine doctor by your side, no illness can defeat you!"

"Chairman Li, we're all waiting for you to lead us to even greater heights!"

Compliments rang out one after another, and the atmosphere became lively.

Li Jiangcheng indeed looked much better than before. His silver hair was perfectly combed, and simply by standing there he radiated a powerful presence and authority.

"Everyone, quiet please," he said, pressing his hands down gently, a faint smile on his face. "Thank you all for coming today. If my hospitality falls short, I hope you'll forgive me. Tonight, let's forget about business and simply enjoy the company of old friends. Eat well, drink well!"

As soon as he finished, thunderous applause erupted and the atmosphere soared.

People raised their glasses, laughter and conversation filling the hall.

Because of his health, Li Jiangcheng did not stay long before retiring, leaving Li Yanze and Li Yanjun to host the distinguished guests at the main table.

Su Zheng made sure to serve plenty of dishes to Chen Muxue. Whenever she glanced at something she liked, he made sure to put it on her plate.

His actions drew envious looks from many at the table, and even Chen Muxue herself was moved, a warm feeling welling up inside her.

"Tch! Country bumpkin—are you a starving ghost reborn, eating so much? Aren't you afraid you'll burst?"

At that moment, Chen Wenli and Feng Qingyuan arrived, followed by Chen Xiong and his son.

There were still a few empty seats at the table, and Chen Wenli and her group sat down with an air of self-satisfaction.

"So, that's the good-for-nothing Su Zheng?" It was Feng Qingyuan's first time meeting Su Zheng. Swirling his wine glass, he asked casually.

"Yes, brother-in-law, that's him!" Chen Peng shot Su Zheng a glare and replied first.

Feng Qingyuan chuckled, then fixed his gaze on Su Zheng. "I don't care how you sneaked in here or which Li family servant you know. Right now, kneel and apologize to Wenli, and maybe I'll consider letting you go."

Su Zheng's expression turned cold. "Get lost."

He uttered the word flatly, not bothering to waste any more words on them.

Bang! Feng Qingyuan slammed his wine glass onto the table, his face instantly filled with menace.

"Guards!"

He called out to the security at the door.

The guards hurried over. When they saw it was Feng Qingyuan, their attitude became respectful. "Young Master Feng, what are your orders?"

"Throw this piece of trash out for me, then break his arms and legs. After the banquet, I'll deal with him myself," Feng Qingyuan commanded coldly.

Since he often accompanied his father to the Li residence, most of the security staff knew him well.

"Yes, sir!"

The two guards, not wanting to disturb the other guests, immediately moved toward Su Zheng, intending to drag him outside before taking action.
