Renoli, Kair, the Seer, and Racy were moving along the main road.

“Are you sure the place Kassadin mentioned is this island?”

“We’ve been walking for more than twenty miles. Why haven’t we seen a single person?”

Renoli scanned the surroundings and, finding no other figures, spoke up.

Since he knew that even if he failed to join them, so long as he did nothing reckless, he would probably be able to withdraw unharmed, he did not feel overly tense.

“The location is correct.”

Kair tapped his communicator at that and checked the coordinates again.

“I already asked around. They saw Kassadin leaving by sea this morning with a woman named Sonia.”

“There’s no doubt that the island belonging to that woman named Sonia is the very same place Kassadin announced.”

“And the true owner of Sonia’s island should actually be Kassadin.”

The Seer’s words were like a sedative.

They immediately put the others completely at ease, and they continued onward.

Racy’s physical condition was only that of an ordinary person. She had no idea how long this journey would take, but she still wanted to follow and see for herself.

Back then, Kassadin had said they would meet again, yet after that, she had never once seen him in person.

In just a few short months, Kassadin had become a legend in the bounty hunter world.

She too very much wanted to find him, in the hope of obtaining some measure of protection.

Though rumors had long claimed that Kassadin was on Xandar, no one knew where he actually was, so there had been no way to search for him.

Now, at long last, Kassadin had personally released some news and said he was willing to give everyone a chance.

Faced with this opportunity, Racy felt that whatever happened, she had to come and try.

“I’ll go ahead along the road and take a look.”

“Other places probably aren’t somewhere we can just barge into, but we should be able to keep following the road.”

After walking with them for a while, Renoli spoke up.

“Leave it to you, but be careful.”

“We’re only guests here to pay a visit, so we should behave like guests.”

“Still, even if there’s no result, nine times out of ten we should be able to leave safely.”

When Kair heard Renoli volunteer to scout ahead, he knew Renoli’s abilities from many previous collaborations, but still reminded him.

Renoli gave a slight nod at that, then his figure flickered and he instantly became a shadow racing forward along the road.

In just over ten minutes, Renoli returned and brought back definite news.

“About a hundred miles away, I saw a temple, and Kassadin’s statue.”

“It can be confirmed with absolute certainty that the island in the message is this one.”

Before they could be certain whether the owner of this island was really Kassadin, Renoli did not dare run wild on it.

Now that it was confirmed, he was even less likely to dare do so; if he broke the sound barrier, the shockwave alone would destroy everything around him.

He would inevitably draw Kassadin’s attention, and then he would truly be someone who came with a life but left none.

If he had dared to run at full speed, a round trip of only a hundred miles would not have taken him this long at all.

“Hahaha, see? I wasn’t wrong. Kassadin really is trying to build a force.”

“Right now, this may very well be the founding period of the Void Cult. If we join, we might be able to gain even more benefits.”

Kair immediately caught the meaning in Renoli’s words and burst out laughing.

“Besides the temple and that statue, did you see any other signs of people?”

The Seer was not so quick to feel happy upon seeing Kair’s optimism, and instead asked carefully.

“I went up alone, so I don’t know.”

Renoli said loudly when he heard the question.

“Normal people feel ashamed when they’re scared. Why are you so proud of being afraid?”

Kair looked at Renoli’s expression and attitude, and said speechlessly, “I’m a coward. You’re the tough guy. When we get there, you go up first.”

“Why should I go up first?”

“Shouldn’t we all go up together?”

Kair was immediately unhappy at the thought of being the first to go.

“Aren’t you the tough guy? Then of course you should take the lead.”

“Don’t tell me you’re scared too?”

Renoli gave Kair an odd look.

Just as the two of them were arguing, a voice sounded nearby.

“Then I’ll be the first to go up.”

Racy said with a serious expression.

Unlike the three superpowered individuals, when she heard the news, what she noticed first was the distance.

Without any means of transportation, simply walking would take a very long time.

Still, now that she knew this really was Kassadin’s temple, she had nothing to fear.

Although she had only interacted with him twice before, Kassadin had left her a very good impression: easy to get along with, generous, and without much arrogance.

So even if this meeting failed to produce results, she would certainly be able to leave the island safely.

That was also why, despite the fact that no one could be sure whether the information was true or whether it might be a trap, she dared to step forward, strike up a conversation, and ask to come along after hearing Renoli and the others talk.

“Good. Then I’ll leave it to you.”

“Over a hundred miles on foot isn’t exactly easy. I’ll give you a ride.”

Renoli said, and did not refuse. On the contrary, he showed his goodwill and was willing to carry Racy part of the way.

“Mm, thank you.”

Racy said gratefully.

“Then I’ll carry the Seer.”

Kair looked at the Seer, who had been silently walking at the rear without saying a word.

“Good. Then we’ll meet in front of the temple.”

Renoli simply picked Racy up and started running, vanishing in an instant.

“Hold on tight.”

Kair reached out, grabbed the Seer, and lifted her onto his back as he spoke.

Then, with a burst of force from his legs, he transformed into a streak of afterimage and sped off along the road.

Ten minutes later.

The four of them arrived a hundred meters in front of a temple.

“Honestly, this temple does have the feel of a stronghold.”

“With this location and the size of this island, it probably wouldn’t be taken for less than four or five hundred million.”

“Even in Xandar City, a mansion estate only costs a few million. This isn’t Xandar City, and you’re telling me this undeveloped island costs four or five hundred million?”

“You must be joking.”

“Though the island hasn’t been developed, it covers a total of 327 square kilometers, and its location isn’t too far from Xandar City.”

“So four or five hundred million isn’t impossible.”

None of them rushed up immediately after seeing the temple. Instead, they exchanged their impressions.

Xandar had highly advanced technology, and interstellar travel was commonplace, so there was no shortage of places to live.

Moreover, purchasing power in the cosmos was high. What was truly valuable were large cosmic warships: without several hundred million, you could not buy one, and money alone was not enough; you also needed connections and channels.

As for cosmic fighters, they were much cheaper, ranging from a few million to tens of millions, even up to a hundred million.

Could this undeveloped island really be worth as much as a large cosmic warship?

If you asked others, you might get different answers, but if you asked Renoli, he would definitely say it was not worth it.

After all, buying it and developing it would also cost a fortune. It would be better to get a cosmic warship, which could help him accomplish more difficult tasks more efficiently.

In his spare time, he could even travel directly to various planets. If he wanted style, he could have style.

Just as the four of them were discussing endlessly, a voice came down from above.

“Welcome, everyone. I am Mr. Kassadin’s butler. You may call me Sonia.”

“Please come up. I will introduce you to the Void Cult.”

When the four heard this, they looked up and saw a beautiful young woman with a pure, gentle face and a smile that made her seem utterly harmless.

Renoli, the Seer, and Kair exchanged glances, silently asking one another what they should do now.

But Racy, upon hearing that they were to go up, had already lifted her foot and started up the steps.
