Chapter Eighty-Nine: Starfall Harbor

Sonia drove out of Sanda City from the Grand Celebrity Hotel and headed for Falling Star Harbor.

When her car arrived, a crowd near the harbor waved in greeting.

Over the past month, Sonia had come almost every single day.

A beautiful woman who visited so often could hardly escape notice, even from strangers; much less Sonia, who was outgoing and eloquent.

By now, nearly everyone had received some small gift from her.

They also knew that this beauty would soon be living on an island forty nautical miles away.

This was the nearest harbor to that island, so dealings with it were bound to be frequent in the future.

“We’re here, Mr. Kassadin.”

Sonia parked the car on the road beside the transport ship and spoke.

Then she stepped out, and as her long, sultry legs appeared, whistles and teasing calls rose at once.

“Who’s that girl? What a fiery figure.”

“If she wrapped those legs around you once, you’d surely taste paradise on earth.”

“Didn’t expect to see a beauty the moment we arrived today.”

“As expected of a big city. I’m definitely going to have some fun tonight.”

“Think there’s a chance to get this girl?”

“Judging by the car, not a chance. She looks barely in her early twenties, hardly long past adulthood.”

“Someone that age buying a car worth over a million just to get around on land? Either she’s from a prominent family, or there’s a boss behind her.”

Men who spent their lives at sea rarely saw many women aboard ship, so whenever they reached a coastal city, they were bound to seek pleasure.

For that reason, every one of them was seasoned, bold in temperament, and open in speech.

Though their words were daring, none of them truly went too far. The law on Sanda Prime was severe.

If both parties were willing, if money changed hands and no force was involved, the planet would not care. But if one tried to use force, prison was all but guaranteed.

Sonia heard the remarks and glanced toward the large cargo vessel moored in front of the harbor, where crates were being unloaded, marked with a hooked emblem.

She knew the symbol belonged to Bright Sun Shipping. The company was not one of the harbor’s regular vessels, so she would not have much dealings with them in the future.

She did not pay it further mind. Walking around to the back, she opened the car door for Harvey herself.

When Harvey stepped down from the car, he drew even more attention than Sonia had.

The people who lived by this harbor needed no explanation; they had heard that Miss Sonia had a great figure behind her.

Her constant trips here were mostly to handle affairs for that important person.

As for those who had come to dock and unload, when they saw this tall man in armor and mask step out, they all understood at once that he was no ordinary figure.

“Watch your words and manner. If you offend some other company, they may still find a way to keep going and weather it.”

“But if you offend this one, even dying may not be enough to clear the matter.”

The captain of the cargo ship had also seen Harvey. His expression changed as he recognized him, and he said sternly, “Captain, you know him?”

The warning made the other sailors a little uneasy.

“I don’t know him,” the captain said, “but I know of him.”

“The only level-three bounty hunter in the galaxy.”

“I never thought the rumors were true—that he was really on Sanda Prime.”

The captain of Bright Sun Shipping looked at Harvey with a mixture of awe and emotion.

In the past few months, many bounty hunters had come to Sanda Prime searching for the legendary level-three bounty hunter, the God of the Void, Kassadin, asking everywhere, yet finding nothing.

Someone had even offered a reward of one million for definite news leading to him.

Now he knew the truth, but he did not dare reveal it. No one knew whether exposing Kassadin’s whereabouts would earn the man’s displeasure.

Hearing the mention of a level-three bounty hunter, the rest of the crew recalled the rumors as well, and the fear in their hearts silenced them.

Harvey noticed the looks around him—some reverent, some fearful—but did not care.

“Which ship is ours?”

He turned to Sonia and asked.

“That yacht moored over there. Normally there are three fixed round-trip runs.”

“If anyone wants to learn about the Void Church and travel to the island in the future, they’ll dispatch up to three yachts depending on the number of passengers.”

“Every day, a small cargo ship delivers ingredients.”

“By air, fresh supplies arrive once a week, and the pools and breeding facilities have already been built.”

“So there’s no need to worry about the ingredients not being fresh.”

“If the number of people increases later, we can switch to medium cargo ships, and the frequency of air shipments can be raised too.”

Sonia explained.

She did not know exactly how Kassadin planned to attract more people into the Void, but at the start, a small passenger vessel would more than suffice.

“Good.”

Harvey gave a slight nod, approving of her answer.

“Mr. Kassadin, please wait a moment. I’ll have them help transport my car to the island.”

“Then I’ll show you the route.”

“The island is forty nautical miles from the harbor, and the round trip takes only an hour.”

Sonia was pleased by the praise and smiled as she spoke.

Harvey agreed again, and Sonia immediately went off to speak with the staff.

Standing beside the harbor, Harvey let the sea breeze wash over him. He did not look around casually.

For now, Sonia seemed to be handling things quite properly.

Whether she truly met his satisfaction, however, he would have to decide after walking the island himself.

If she did, then he might consider rewarding her.

Sonia quickly finished making arrangements, asking them to help transport her car to the island that day.

Then she led Harvey onto a speedboat moored near the harbor.

The man at the helm wore beach shorts and a floral shirt. Broad-shouldered and tall, with healthy tan skin, he looked bright and easygoing.

“Miss Sonia isn’t bringing anyone else aboard?”

The man had already guessed Harvey’s identity when he saw Sonia bring him onto the boat, but he still asked politely, so there would be no awkward missing passenger.

“No one else, Uncle Mike. Just set sail,” Sonia replied with a smile, shaking her head.

“Right.”

Mike took the answer and went to work at once.

As for the person Sonia had brought, he did not know who he was.

Since the man had not spoken to him first, it was best not to greet him on his own initiative, lest he cause any unpleasantness.

“Mr. Kassadin, please sit.”

Sonia led Harvey to a round table on the yacht’s deck and said, “We haven’t hired a proper chef yet, so please bear with this for now.”

Then she went into the cabin and took several chilled drinks of different flavors from the refrigerator.

“It’s fine.”

Harvey did not mind and took one.

He was not the sort to refuse simply because it was not milk tea, fruit tea, or something of the sort; every now and then, even he would drink a little soda.

“I’m glad you don’t mind. Let me introduce everything to you.”

Seeing that Mr. Kassadin did not object, Sonia stood aside and smiled as she began explaining the harbor’s name and the island’s exact location.

Though Kassadin had not asked, she felt he would likely find the information useful.

Harvey listened patiently as Sonia described the route and the island.

He did indeed need to know the island’s precise location, along with how to get there, because he was about to begin spreading word, and that information would be needed.
