Chapter 162 You Have Changed
As for Thor, after briefly explaining the situation to Jane and Darcy, he returned straight to Asgard to settle accounts with Loki.
Meanwhile, Tony returned to his mansion, enjoyed a hearty meal, and then excitedly began his research on Uru metal.
This metal possessed both terrifying hardness and malleability. If it could be applied to his Iron Man suits, they should be able to withstand the Void Mode without being destroyed.
Since he had used eighty percent of the void rays within his body and still failed to pierce the Uru metal armor, handling the Void Mode would undoubtedly be a piece of cake.
After defeating the Destroyer, Harvey returned home and immediately drove out for a joyride.
There was basically no need to worry about Thor's affairs. Given Thor's personality, even if he were furious, he wouldn't kill Loki; at most, he would just lock him up.
Therefore, Harvey couldn't be bothered to care about Asgard's messy business.
However, with the occurrence of this incident, it wouldn't be long before Loki came to Earth to stir up trouble.
***
In fact, Harvey's appearance and the direct dismantling of the Destroyer had frightened Loki immensely.
He had never imagined that anyone could simply tear the Destroyer apart piece by piece.
One must know that the Destroyer was far more powerful than Mjolnir. Although it lacked high intelligence and was merely a war puppet, its strength was unquestionable.
If the Destroyer were to go on a rampage in Asgard, the only one who could stop it would be his father, Odin.
Neither he nor his brother Thor had any way of dealing with the Destroyer.
He would definitely have to think twice before going to Earth in the future, making sure not to provoke that Harvey fellow.
However, knowing that Thor was about to return, Loki went straight to his father's bedchamber.
He knew Thor too well; as long as he was there, Thor certainly wouldn't dare to make a move.
Not long after Loki arrived at the Allfather's bedchamber, Thor rushed in right behind him.
"Thor, why have you returned?"
Thor's mother, Frigga, asked with a look of shock as she stood up upon seeing him.
"Mother, I'll explain everything to you later."
Wielding Mjolnir and remaining in a state of battle readiness, Thor offered a word of reassurance to his mother before fixing his gaze on Loki.
"Brother, I'm glad you're back."
Seeing Thor, Loki retreated to the side and said with a smile.
"Glad my ass! If you're so glad, why did you send the Destroyer to kill me?"
"In the past, you played tricks on me from time to time and stabbed me in the back, and I let it pass, but those were merely games between the two of us."
"This time you actually had the Destroyer sent to kill me—isn't that going a bit too far?"
Staring at Loki, Thor unleashed a harsh torrent of abuse, his face exceptionally gloomy.
"Loki, did you really do that?"
"Thor is your brother!"
Hearing these words, Frigga looked at her beloved son in absolute disbelief.
"Not by blood."
Seeing that Thor was leaving him no shred of dignity and was exposing the truth right in front of their mother, Loki felt the weight of Frigga's gaze and spoke up.
"Even if not by blood, all these years, your father and I have treated you just the same as Thor, consistently..."
"You wanted to be king, and didn't we let you be?"
Hearing this, unaware of how Loki had discovered the truth, Frigga wore a sorrowful expression on her face as she spoke.
"..."
Hearing these words, Loki's gaze trembled, and his body vanished on the spot.
"Loki!"
Seeing Loki dissolve into a phantom and disappear, Thor immediately realized what was happening and flew toward him.
The farce in Odin's bedchamber awakened Odin from his deep sleep, causing him to open his eyes.
Even though he had wanted to use the Odinsleep to stabilize the increasingly powerful forces within his body, at this critical juncture where his sons were tearing each other apart, he had no choice but to force himself awake.
It was precisely this forced awakening that made the energy inside Odin even more chaotic and unstable.
"My love, why have you woken up? You need to stabilize the power within you right now."
Startled to see Odin awake, Frigga spoke in hurried concern.
"Cough, cough... If I were to sleep any longer, judging by Loki's temperament, I'm afraid one of them would end up dead."
"Frigga, I imagine you wouldn't want to see that happen."
Awakening and hearing Frigga's words, Odin coughed, sat up, and slowly spoke.
He would have loved to continue sleeping, but alas, neither of his sons gave him any peace of mind.
"Go quickly and return soon."
Hearing Odin's words, Frigga felt a complex mix of emotions and heartache. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke.
With his wife's consent, Odin nodded, stood up, and donned the armor of the Allfather before heading toward the Bifrost.
Odin could easily guess Loki's intentions, just as Thor could.
By the time Odin arrived, Loki and Thor were engaged in a fierce argument upon the Bifrost.
"Why have you become so weak after a trip to Midgard?"
"As long as Jotunheim is destroyed, the borders of Asgard will be safe forever."
Because his grand plan had been ruined, Loki glared at Thor and roared.
"Loki, I now understand your desire to stand as my equal."
"But exterminating an entire race is not the only way to ensure that no one dares to violate Asgard's majesty."
Seeing how paranoid Loki had become, Thor tried to reason with him earnestly.
"What method could be more efficient and secure than complete eradication?"
"Are you trying to say that if we just join forces, it will be enough? Don't make me laugh."
"If the Frost Giants ever rise again, can you guarantee that the people of Asgard will suffer no harm while you try to beat them back?"
"Answer me!"
Hearing Thor's words, Loki poured his heart out in a counter-question.
In the past, he couldn't understand why, as fellow sons of the Allfather, the gap between his power and Thor's was so vast.
Later, upon learning the truth, he understood—he was born a Frost Giant.
This was an innate deficiency; he did not possess the peerless, inborn strength that Thor commanded.
Therefore, he wanted to be embraced by the people of Asgard and earn the recognition of his father and mother just like Thor.
To achieve this, he had to accomplish a monumental feat worthy of being sung by countless generations of Asgardians.
Completely destroying Jotunheim and eliminating any possibility of the Frost Giants returning to threaten Asgard's borders would undoubtedly be a legendary deed worth passing down through the ages.
Originally, even when Thor returned, he hadn't been overly concerned.
Because he believed Thor's mindset should be the same as his own: rooting out the potential threat posed by Jotunheim.
Yet, never in his wildest dreams had he expected that after spending less than half a month on Midgard, Thor would return looking like a completely different person.
