Chapter 128: Changes in Strength

Sonia now understood that the relationship between Mr. Tony and Mr. Kassadin was not merely that of casual acquaintances, but rather that of close friends. As far as she knew, Mr. Tony was the only person besides herself who truly understood Mr. Kassadin's nature. However, Mr. Tony was excellent at keeping secrets, and no rumors regarding Mr. Kassadin had ever spread across the island.

"Are you taking Miss Sonia with you when you go?"

Although Tony had no intention of exposing anything, he couldn't help but ask out of curiosity. The question caused a tremor in Sonia’s heart, and she turned her gaze toward Mr. Kassadin.

"Don't start, Tony." Harvey looked at Tony’s gossiping demeanor, feeling somewhat speechless.

"I’m not joking. Miss Sonia has been attending to you for so long. Will you be able to adjust when you go back and there’s no one there to serve you? When I first arrived here, you were the one who immediately found me a secretary. Without Pepper taking care of me, I absolutely would not have adapted to this environment." Tony spread his hands, speaking with a look of earnestness.

"I know I need someone to look after my daily life, but could you please not sound so proud of that?" Harvey watched Tony, who was clearly incapable of taking care of himself yet seemed so smug about it, and felt a sense of helplessness.

"It’s the truth. Why wouldn't I say it?" Tony didn't mind at all.

"Sonia needs to look after the island. There are too many things here that require her attention, so she cannot come with me. Besides, I managed just fine before I had anyone to serve me; at most, it will just be a little uncomfortable when I first return." Harvey glanced at Sonia before answering Tony.

"It will certainly be an issue for the island without her." Tony remarked, not pressing the matter further. He shrugged at Sonia, signaling that his hands were tied.

As a seasoned playboy who had been with countless women, how could Tony fail to see that Sonia had feelings for Harvey? If Harvey were to give even the slightest nod, Sonia would undoubtedly throw herself into his arms. Yet, for reasons unknown, Harvey refused to cross that line. If anyone suggested that Harvey was simply shy or worried about being tied down, they would be dead wrong. He didn't care about such things; if he had the chance to step out and stray, he would, provided he was discreet enough not to let Pepper find out. Given Harvey’s ability to cross tens of thousands of light-years in seconds and his talent for shapeshifting, finding a wife on every planet would be effortless for him.

Moreover, after ten months of observation, Tony had concluded that while Sonia didn't fully meet Harvey's criterion of "strength," she possessed the other two qualities he valued: she was beautiful, sufficiently intelligent, and her efficiency was beyond reproach.

Sonia saw the gesture Tony made toward her and smiled, shaking her head. "I’m going back to work on the AI; I won’t disturb your 'couple time'." Tony had originally come to discuss work, and the topic of returning to Earth had only come up because Sonia mentioned it. With business concluded, Tony made a few more quips before taking his leave.

"Don't take Tony to heart. He has a sharp tongue, but he’s a decent person," Harvey said to Sonia after watching Tony fly away in his armor.

"I know," Sonia replied with a smile. She felt a bit shy at the mention of "couple time," but she didn't let it show.

Harvey found it difficult to read Sonia’s thoughts sometimes, as she never blushed or showed obvious signs of concern. "When I go to Earth and am not here, if you feel overwhelmed, feel free to reduce the number of orders. We have long lifespans and plenty of time, so earning a little less money is not a problem. Your priority should be looking after the other members on the island and focusing on strengthening your own power." Since the topic of returning to Earth had come up, Harvey naturally offered a few words of advice.

Sonia understood that this meant Harvey’s upcoming departure would likely be for a longer period than usual. "I will manage things according to my capabilities, Mr. Kassadin; you need not worry. I’ll get back to work now; I still need to respond to those people now that I have a definitive answer from Mr. Tony." She didn't voice any desire for him to return quickly, as her position didn't permit such intimacy, so she simply nodded slightly and smiled.

"Yes, go ahead." Harvey nodded.

Once Sonia left, Harvey was left alone in the living room. He picked up the drink Sonia had prepared for him and took a sip, his thoughts drifting elsewhere. Since there were no disaster-related monsters in the universe for him to consume, his rate of evolution had slowed significantly.

He now required two million energy points for a single evolution. With his five meals a day costing a fortune, he averaged about 370,000 energy points daily. Consequently, over the past ten months, he had only evolved fifty-five times, bringing his total to 587.

This level of power gave Harvey both confidence and a sense of security. Before the emergence of the various cosmic deities, he possessed sufficient means to protect himself. As long as he prevented Thanos from gathering all six Infinity Stones—or even snatched them for himself—he would never have to worry about being erased by a snap of the fingers.
