Chapter 43: The Dragon King's Mark?
When Wang Liang heard this, he couldn't help but glare at them. What level were they operating at? Dragon King Seal? He had clearly carved it like this:
┌──┐
│Dragon King│
│Seal│
└──┘
Did they have any common sense at all?
Wang Liang's glare startled Sanjin, who quickly pulled the master feng shui expert aside. "Get to work quickly! All matters concerning the young master and the Dragon King must be kept close to your heart."
The master nodded repeatedly. He was a veteran, well aware that anyone who dared call themselves king in this game was a formidable figure. For Wang Liang to use the Dragon King Seal, he must have a solid backing.
Not wanting to attract Wang Liang's notice, the master hurriedly said, "Young Master Wang, I really didn't expect you—no, that's not it. Aside from this warding item, perhaps I should make you a 'Royal Residence' plaque to hang above the entrance, to suppress all evil spirits and monsters?"
Before Wang Liang could reply, Sanjin dragged the master away. "Boss, what are you talking about? It's already settled, just get it done quickly! Use the best materials—don't let the reputation of our Five Metals Group go to waste!"
Only then did Sanjin politely address Wang Liang. "Young Master Wang, please wait here. Our renovations are swift—three to five minutes and it’ll be done. We won’t miss the right moment."
Miss what? Wang Liang looked on blankly—he had no idea what was special about this situation.
Sanjin leaned in and whispered, "Young Master Wang, let’s clarify things first. The green one is simple, nothing to worry about. The white one has significant cause and effect. We can move it, but it’s troublesome."
"So, do you want us to capture the white one?"
Green and white? It wasn’t like mixing scallions with tofu—what was the significance? Wang Liang didn’t understand the intricacies or the consequences, so he refrained from speaking.
Sanjin had to whisper again, "Young Master Wang, I know what you’re thinking. Everyone wants to be a folk hero, but only Xu Hanwen ever succeeded—the others all died. The consequences behind this are immense. Leaving aside the origins of Lady Li Mountain, even the white one’s strength is equal to mainstream players."
"Right now, we can sever the green line of cause and effect, but not the white one. How about this: we take down the green one first, then leave you a quest scroll. When you’re strong enough, you can bring back the white one yourself?"
"Fine, start with the green."
Hearing these words, Wang Liang began to sense that these green and white figures must be formidable. Just from the name Lady Li Mountain, he could tell she was a well-cultivated female practitioner. The white one was equal to mainstream players, roughly level 100. Wang Liang couldn’t provoke them yet, and the fact that Sanjin could leave him an opening was already impressive.
The green one’s strength was within Sanjin’s control, showcasing the group’s true capabilities.
Looking at Sanjin’s pitiful expression, Wang Liang finally spoke. "Alright. Just wait here. I’ll make sure this is done beautifully—you won’t have wasted that fate-weaving machine."
Without waiting for Wang Liang to say more, Sanjin happily went off to make preparations. Wang Liang didn’t even have a chance to ask questions, and could only watch as the massive estate below began to transform—the once craggy ruins slowly sprouted new buildings.
The new houses were built right beneath Wang Liang’s eyes, as if someone had pressed the fast-forward button. Every second, the estate’s appearance changed.
After about three minutes, the estate matched the final design on the model.
Sanjin reappeared and addressed Wang Liang, "Young Master Wang, everything is ready."
He smiled, but didn’t invite Wang Liang down. Though Wang Liang lacked knowledge in some areas, he was shrewd in others. Seeing this, he understood, so he reached into his coat and produced the weaving machine.
"Oh, really, there’s no need for this. We could wait until we’ve caught the green one before paying."
Sanjin spoke politely, all the while directing his people to carry away the weaving machine. Clearly, it was an important item.
Taking Wang Liang forward, they appeared at the estate’s main gate.
Even the walls and doors had been replaced—fine brickwork, precise seams, a screen wall, seven shining door studs, and a grand vermillion lacquered gate.
Above the entrance hung a black plaque with gold lettering: "Royal Residence."
On either side of the gate rested a stone lion, exuding a palpable aura of bloodlust.
Fifty meters to the left and right were side gates, all black-oiled doors for easy access, though nothing particularly special.
Walking a few steps forward to mount the entrance steps, the beast-head knocker on the door rang out automatically, and the door slowly opened to reveal a massive screen wall behind.
On the red brick screen wall was a painting of peonies, symbols of wealth, but a closer look revealed nine enormous tigers, sitting or lying hidden behind the flowers.
Passing the screen wall, there was a small bridge over a pond. Beyond the bridge was the secondary gate, marking the start of the main residence. Behind the inner gate was a stone-paved avenue leading to the distant main building.
As Wang Liang walked along the stone avenue, every few steps a small path branched off, leading to one of the eighteen courtyards in the front yard.
Arriving at the main building, Wang Liang beheld a towering structure, fifteen meters high with three floors.
The building was in the style of ancient Eastern architecture, its base solid and thick. Each floor had upturned eaves, with main beams and columns supporting the structure. All columns were painted red, and every beam was adorned with small story scenes.
Wang Liang noticed that whether it was the ten beasts and bronze bells on the eaves or the characters in the stories painted on the beams, they all seemed alive with spirit.
Pushing open the main hall doors, Wang Liang found the vast central hall empty—no tables or chairs in sight.
Sanjin explained, "Furniture and such are considered soft furnishings, so I didn’t arrange any. These things aren’t valuable—once you secure this, let the system set things up for you. It won’t affect the estate’s feng shui."
Wang Liang nodded at the explanation. He knew furniture should be custom-made to fit; buying random pieces might lead to disappointment and no way to return them.
Sanjin continued, "Young Master Wang, please follow me—I’ll help you activate control over the estate."
He led Wang Liang around to the side and rear of the main building, where stairs descended on either side.
As they walked down, Sanjin explained, "Including the main hall, this building has twenty-one rooms: nine underground, seven on the first floor, three on the second, and two on the third. Each floor has its own unique layout."
"The basement rooms are all equal in size, arranged in a grid, with the corridors forming a loop. Only you can enter the central room."
"The first floor consists of the main hall with three rooms on each side. The second floor has three rooms in a triad pattern, each with a terrace. The third floor has one large room and one small room. The use of these rooms is up to you."
As he spoke, Sanjin led Wang Liang to the central room among the nine underground chambers.
Just as Sanjin had described, this four-hundred-square-meter square room had no doors or windows—they entered via a special method.
Upon entering, Wang Liang was immediately struck by a fierce aura. Looking closely, he saw his own "Wang’s Dragon Seal" embedded in the floor.
