Chapter 74: She Grabbed Me!
After Lu Ye left, Jiang Sui picked up her phone and sent the video she had recorded earlier to Shi Heng.
Upon receiving the video, Shi Heng immediately replied with three question marks.
Shi Heng: "???"
Jiang Sui: "These bad guys actually tried to kidnap poor, fragile me~"
It seemed Shi Heng understood what Jiang Sui was getting at.
Shi Heng: "Want me to handle it?"
Jiang Sui: "Mhm~"
Shi Heng: "Understood."
Jiang Sui raised an eyebrow, deciding to leave the rest to Shi Heng. This was a good chance to see what he was capable of.
The fact that these people had dared to act against her so directly made it clear that whoever was behind them clearly intended to target her. At first, she couldn't be entirely sure they were sent by Ji Sicheng—after all, she still held shares, and it was possible she had become entangled in some grand family power struggle.
But once they were brought to the station, her suspicions were confirmed. She had caught them quietly mouthing the words, "President Ji," as they whispered among themselves.
A cold smile curled on her lips.
Was that all? Did they really think they could take her down? How laughable—it was clear they had underestimated her.
Suddenly, a series of knocks sounded against the car window.
Jiang Sui frowned and rolled the window down.
Standing before her was a young woman with a touch of beauty, dressed head-to-toe in luxury items, styled with the classic elegance of a high-society heiress.
"Who are you? Why are you in Lu Ye's car?" The woman fired off the question in a tone fit for catching a cheater.
Jiang Sui, peering at her from behind her sunglasses, replied, "Who are you?"
The woman sneered, her voice laced with superiority. "Is that really for you to ask? How about you tell me who you are first? What is your relationship with Lu Ye?"
When she saw that Jiang Sui was both masked and wearing sunglasses, she grew even more suspicious. "All wrapped up like that—what, are you afraid to show your face? Did you sneak into President Lu's car behind his back?!"
Jiang Sui instinctively leaned further inside the car, wary that the woman might suddenly lunge at her.
"Are you Lu Ye's mistress?" she asked, puzzled. If she weren't, what business would she have coming here in such a manner?
Could she be one of Lu Ye's women on the side?
Hearing this, Pei Pei's expression flickered uncomfortably. "Mistress? What nonsense are you spouting?"
Jiang Sui understood then. So she really was one of Lu Ye's women. No wonder he never went home. Still, his taste left much to be desired—this woman was no match for her at all.
"Oh... Lu Ye and I are friends. I just hitched a ride home in his car," she replied casually, never one to invite trouble or get drawn into unnecessary drama.
Pei Pei stared at her, deeply suspicious. "Really?"
"Mhm."
No sooner had Jiang Sui spoken than the woman suddenly reached in, trying to pull at her.
"You think I'm stupid?! Shameless thing, I want to see what you really look like! Wearing a mask and sunglasses—are you afraid people will see you seducing a man?!"
Jiang Sui quickly retreated, shouting, "Stay back!"
Then she raised her leg and kicked the woman in the face.
The woman's head, which had been thrust through the window, was promptly sent flying backward by Jiang Sui's kick. A dusty imprint of Jiang Sui's shoe was left on her face.
"You bitch, you actually kicked me!" the woman screamed, furious. She tried to reach in again to grab Jiang Sui, but suddenly a strong hand seized her and yanked her backward, sending her sprawling to the ground.
Lu Ye appeared in front of the car, his gaze icy as he stared at the woman.
Jiang Sui immediately put on a pitiful face and whimpered, "Lu Ye, she tried to grab me."
Lu Ye's expression grew even colder. "Who gave you permission to touch her?"
Pei Pei was stunned, her eyes wide. "I..."
At that moment, Lu Ye's face was nothing like his usual gentle composure—his cold, menacing demeanor was terrifying.
