Chapter 50: Vying for Her to Be Their Godmother
"Can you believe it? Everything she said was spot on!"
"Oh my god, could Jiang Sui actually be a hidden genius?"
"Aaaaah Jiang Sui, you're my queen! My one and only! Who just jumped off their bed in excitement? Me!!"
"This is insane, absolutely insane. Jiang Sui is so incredible! How does she know everything?"
"What about those people who just said Jiang Sui didn't know anything? Isn't this a slap in the face? Come and kowtow to your grandmaster Jiang!"
"It's just a script, you really believe this? Clearly they're trying to build up her genius persona."
"Oh sure~ Jiang Sui must be really impressive, even convincing Bai Xixue to go along with her, and getting Bai Xixue's top fan to ask her questions."
"Even if Bai Xixue's fans were reduced to ashes, they'd still be stubborn as ever."
"Hahahaha, so are those haters feeling the sting now? Come on, kneel and apologize to the queen!"
These questions were practically elementary school problems for Jiang Sui.
After countless traversals, with different identities and similar worldviews, it was truly laughable.
Forget answering a few questions—if she were sent to the battlefield right now, she could pilot a fighter jet, bomb the skyscrapers of Country M, and still make a flawless escape.
Some of her skills and areas of knowledge were already maxed out by necessity.
Jiang Sui answered the questions with utter nonchalance.
Meanwhile, Bai Xixue's expression was as sour as if she'd swallowed something foul.
The other two, Li Lan and Xu Manman, who were also supposed to be live-streaming in Bai Xixue's studio, couldn't help but send barrage comments as well.
Li Lan: "So impressive! Jiang Sui, your knowledge is so broad! You should be my son's godmother one day, he adores you!"
Xu Manman: "Take my Lele under your wing too! Jiang Sui, from now on, you're my little sister, my one and only!"
The two sent gifts as they commented, as if whoever gifted more could claim Jiang Sui as their child's godmother.
But no matter who topped the leaderboard, they were both outdone by that anonymous top supporter from before.
Comments in the stream:
"Hahaha, what are you two doing? Shouldn't you be back in your own studios? Sister Lan, are you still managing Xiao Nan or not?"
"I'm laughing so hard my head's gone—what is this, a battle for the godmother spot?"
"See? Jiang Sui must be a wonderful person, otherwise why would even the movie queen and Xu Manman come to support her?"
The Shen family exchanged bewildered glances.
Why did everything in the live stream seem so different from what they had expected?
"This... must be scripted, right?" Shen Li said uncertainly. "Is Jiang Sui really this impressive?"
The same Jiang Sui who could send him dozens of WeChat messages cursing his ancestors—could she really be this capable?
Judging by her talent for insults alone, her education seemed questionable at best.
How could she possibly know all this?
Lin Hui was unsure as well. "It must be, right?"
Shen Qian spoke calmly, "Judging from the comments, it doesn't seem so."
At that moment, the Shen family felt much like those who had mocked Jiang Sui in the chat before—thoroughly slapped in the face.
Yet the Jiang Sui before them was so at odds with the one they thought they knew.
"Maybe she just reads a lot outside of class," Shen Qian remarked casually, giving a lingering look at Jiang Sui's composed and unbothered demeanor on screen, frowning slightly before resuming his meal.
"Brother, do you really believe that? Pulling these stunts always backfires in the end," Shen Li sneered. "I've seen plenty of her type."
Lin Hui, still uncertain, added, "It must be fake. Isn't the entertainment industry always like this?"
But she couldn't deny, even knowing it was fake, when she saw all those compliments for Jiang Sui in the chat, there was a flutter of joy in her heart.
She was, after all, a mother; no matter how strained her relationship with Jiang Sui, Jiang Sui was still her child.
It was only because, when Jiang Sui entered show business, she'd become too focused on her and the industry, and all she ever saw were the scandals and unspeakable incidents, that she gradually lost interest in entertainment altogether.
