Chapter 24: Will You Stop Liking Me?
Just then, another staff member hurried over.
“Director, a medical team just arrived at the resort. They brought an entry permit.”
“Medical team? Where did they come from? We didn’t call for any!” The director, whose face was already sour, now looked even worse.
“They said they’re here for Jiang Sui and her daughter,” the staff member continued.
The entire production crew was stunned, faces filled with shock and confusion.
What kind of family is this?
Why would someone bring a medical team to join the show?
As Jiang Sui packed her luggage with Lu Xuanxuan, she picked up her phone and opened her livestream room.
Her stream had been shut down—actually, the entire production’s streams had been temporarily suspended.
Even so, she could still see countless comments and messages.
“Who’s Ji Chuan’s father, anyway? Do they really think the entertainment industry belongs to their family? Is there any justice left?”
“Exactly! What did Jiang Sui do wrong? She was just defending her daughter. If I had a mom like that, I’d wake up smiling in my dreams! But the way she’s been treated here—clearly the production team has been colluding with Bai Xixue from the start.”
“Don’t just jump to conclusions and curse at people. This is Jiang Sui acting. How can you be sure the man is really Xiao Chuan’s father? Don’t get swept up by the hype.”
“I agree. It’s probably just a publicity stunt by the production team, and you naïve folks fell for it. Anyone with eyes can see it’s fake. Xuexue is so kind, how could her husband be such a person?”
“Bai Xixue’s fans can leave now, or hide your MA well, otherwise I’m afraid your families will suffer innocently.”
“That was a great curse! Big thumbs up!”
“Stop this cannibalistic show already. Our Sui and Xuanxuan shouldn’t endure such hardship!”
“Please dig deep into Bai Xixue and her husband, thank you!”
...
Seeing these messages, Jiang Sui’s lips curved in satisfaction.
She’d had Xuanxuan turn on the tablet stream.
She wasn’t foolish; if she directly offended Bai Xixue and the man behind her, with her current ability, she wouldn’t be able to handle the consequences.
So she could only use the power of public opinion for now, forcing the other side to be wary.
At least, in the short term, they couldn’t touch her.
According to the original script, Ji Sicheng’s character was obsessed with protecting his wife.
He even commanded an underground force dedicated to shady dealings.
For Bai Xixue, he’d do anything—even kill.
She picked up her phone and searched through Jiang Sui’s WeChat contacts and address book.
Then she found a number and dialed.
“Do something for me. One hundred thousand, I’ll transfer it to your account immediately.”
The contact was the head of a navy studio.
After all, the original Jiang Sui had mingled in entertainment circles and had some strange resources at hand.
But she’d never used them, always obeying her manager’s arrangements, spinning in circles by their coaxing.
After hanging up, she looked at Lu Xuanxuan, who had finished packing her little Disney suitcase.
She smiled gently at her, “Xuanxuan, let’s go home.”
But Jiang Sui noticed something was off with Lu Xuanxuan’s expression.
“What’s wrong?”
Lu Xuanxuan furrowed her brows, “Will you stop being nice to me when we get home?”
While they were here, Mommy Jiang Sui sometimes felt like a real mother…
But what if, once they got back, she wasn’t nice to her anymore?
She’d only just started to like Mommy Jiang Sui.
She didn’t want to go back to coldness, didn’t want Jiang Sui to lose her affection for her.
Jiang Sui was briefly stunned, not expecting Xuanxuan to worry about this.
She crossed her arms and smiled dotingly at Lu Xuanxuan, “I’ll never change.”
Maybe because this was her last life, she found herself treating everything in this world with unusual sincerity.
After these few days together, she felt more pity and love for Xuanxuan.
Hearing Jiang Sui’s answer, Lu Xuanxuan’s little face immediately brightened.
Her eyes sparkled as she asked hopefully, “Really?”
Jiang Sui nodded, “Mm-hmm~”
Lu Xuanxuan dropped her luggage and threw herself into Jiang Sui’s arms.
“That’s great!”
Though Xuanxuan was light, her sudden pounce made Jiang Sui stagger back a step.
Luckily, her system had restored much of her physical strength, or she would have been knocked off her feet.
With everything packed, Jiang Sui called for a nanny van, hurriedly taking Xuanxuan away.
The production team tried to catch up but couldn’t.
“Mommy Jiang Sui, why are we leaving so quickly?”
“Because there are bad people here,” Jiang Sui replied casually.
“Oh, oh, is the director a bad person?”
“Yes, and bad people tend to have bad luck. So tonight, the director will suffer a calamity.”
Lu Xuanxuan blinked, “What’s a calamity?”
Jiang Sui realized it might be too early to tell Xuanxuan about these things, so she changed her answer.
“It just means he’ll have terrible luck.”
Lu Xuanxuan looked as if she suddenly understood, gazing out the window, lost in her own thoughts.
Jiang Sui scrolled through her phone.
Compared to earlier, online discussion about the parent-child variety show’s livestream had only intensified.
She had clearly become the victim, while Bai Xixue’s wealthy backer husband flaunted his power and influence, colluding with the production team to give Bai Xixue more screen time and even forcing Jiang Sui to apologize for Bai Xixue’s mistakes.
The navy she’d hired quickly pushed favorable comments to the top and started quietly revealing the identity of Bai Xixue’s husband.

Such hashtags kept climbing the trending rankings.
She knew Bai Xixue’s husband’s money would soon quell the crisis.
But at least it let her catch her breath.
If anything happened to her, or her resources were cut off, public opinion would quickly favor Bai Xixue.
Yet this wasn’t a long-term solution.
If she wanted her enemies to think twice before acting, she needed to grow stronger herself.
Clearly, pursuing her career was the right path in every lifetime.
She wasn’t blessed with an invincible start.
Without striving, most of the time she could only await death.
Her first few lives were ruined by her own recklessness, and only then did she begin to grasp the rules of survival.
She opened her phone to search for someone’s contact information.
No results.
So she opened Li Lan’s WeChat chat window.
“Sister Lan, can you recommend someone to me?”
To her surprise, the reply came instantly.
“Of course.”
When she received the person’s phone number, Jiang Sui smiled in satisfaction.
After all, Li Lan had been in the entertainment industry for years; she had these resources at her fingertips.
She dialed the number directly.
“Hello? Who is this?” The answer came from a young, refined male voice.
“This is Jiang Sui. Could we arrange a meeting?”
