Lu Ye lifted the teapot, gave it a smooth, even shake in his hand, and began pouring the tea at an unhurried pace.

“Miss Jiang, setting aside the fact that I had no idea you were married to Lu Ye, Xuanxuan is my Lu family’s granddaughter. I intend to bring her back to the Lu family and raise her myself.” Old Master Lu’s voice rose slightly, edged with severity.
Lu Ye’s hand paused faintly as he poured Jiang Sui’s tea, his brows drawing together.
Jiang Sui smiled faintly, completely unaffected by Old Master Lu’s imposing presence.
“Is that the reason you asked to see Xuanxuan and me?”
Old Master Lu frowned. That was indeed his purpose, but when Jiang Sui put it so plainly, the words suddenly caught in his throat.
Jiang Sui was just about to speak when Lu Ye suddenly handed her a cup of tea.
She froze for a moment, glanced at him, then instinctively accepted it and took a sip to moisten her throat.
When she was about to set it back on the table, Lu Ye took it from her.

To be honest, Jiang Sui did not object to Old Master Lu growing close to Xuanxuan. After all, they were grandfather and granddaughter.
As long as there was no ill intent, she had no right to stand in the way of a blood relationship.

Rather than send her back to the Lu family to be raised, it would be better to keep her by his side.

“Uncle Chi!” Lu Ye suddenly called out coldly.
Uncle Chi felt a chill run down his spine and immediately replied, “Second Master.”
“Weren’t we supposed to have dinner? Are we eating or not?” Lu Ye’s cool voice was unmistakably laced with frost.
Old Master Lu frowned.
Did Lu Ye think he could not tell? Though he had called for Uncle Chi, he was clearly showing his displeasure toward him.
Uncle Chi immediately nodded. “I’ll arrange for the dishes to be served right away.”
Jiang Sui smiled with perfect composure. “Then, Old Master Lu, what makes you think that someone who cannot even resolve his own children’s problems can manage to build a healthy relationship with his granddaughter?”
As Uncle Chi walked out, he covered his head with one hand.
Young Madam was driving every word straight into the master’s heart today!
“Or is it that you want Xuanxuan’s future to end up just like theirs?”
