Chapter 148: He Must Be Younger Than Me, Right?
Lu Ye suddenly transferring ten million to her was something she truly hadn't expected.
Did she give him the impression lately that she was destitute?
But since he had transferred it, she accepted it. Poverty alleviation, she understood. How could one take back money meant for charity?
"There is something," Lu Ye said suddenly.
"What is it?" Jiang Sui was already in the car, fastening her seatbelt.
The voice on the other end of the line seemed to hesitate. "Wait until you're done with your work."
Jiang Sui: "..."
After hanging up, Jiang Sui sat with her phone, pondering for a moment. What did he want to say to her? Why leave things half-said? It was frustratingly suspenseful.
It wasn't until Jiang Sui finished her work and returned to the villa that Lu Ye spoke to her seriously.
"Is there something you want to ask me?" Jiang Sui couldn't help but ask. She noticed that Lu Ye’s demeanor and expression seemed off. He looked gloomy, and his usually refined, aloof exterior carried a shadow of melancholy.
Lu Ye looked at her, his gaze extremely complex. It made Jiang Sui feel as if she had done something to wrong him.
Just then, a WeChat message popped up on Jiang Sui's phone.
Qin Ze: "Why are you ignoring me, sister? We’ve been friends for so many days now, can’t we just chat?"
Lu Ye’s gaze swept toward her phone. Jiang Sui calmly turned the phone over.
Ever since she left the set after her audition, this guy Qin Ze had somehow gotten a hold of her WeChat and added her. Every now and then, he would send her greetings, calling her "sister" this and "sister" that.
When something is abnormal, there must be a demon. According to her experience, this character was definitely unwell. He must have some ulterior motive. It wasn't that she was narcissistic, and she didn't think it was romantic interest. Rather, this person seemed to be intentionally or unintentionally trying to get closer to her, which forced her to be on guard. Not to mention, she was already suspicious that Qin Ze wasn't an ordinary person at all.
Lu Ye frowned, his eyes lingering on her phone for a few seconds. After a long silence, he said in a low, slow voice, "Is that person very good?"
Jiang Sui was stunned. "Huh?"
Lu Ye’s face was clouded with gloom, his eyes seemingly restraining something. He lowered his voice, speaking slowly: "As long as you cut ties with him, you can name your conditions. I will agree to anything."
Jiang Sui: "Huh??"
What was Lu Ye talking about? What relationship? Who?
"You... what are you talking about?" Jiang Sui couldn't listen to this anymore. Although she had thought that if they lived their separate lives, she might look for some male models later... but she hadn't actually done anything yet, so he couldn't just throw a green hat on her!
"He must be younger than me, right? Otherwise, I can't think of any way he could be better than me."
"That boy toy you're keeping in that other house—from today on, as long as you cut ties with him, I can pretend I know nothing. I can even satisfy any of your requests." Lu Ye’s deep voice was suppressed with hostility. "Make him leave. He is not allowed to appear in front of you."
Otherwise... he didn't know what he might do.
After a moment of confusion, Jiang Sui finally understood what Lu Ye was saying. She sorted it out.
"Are you saying that I’m keeping a boy toy behind your back?" she asked.
Lu Ye looked at her calmly, his dark, deep eyes filled with a trace of grievance.
Jiang Sui raised both hands to signal her innocence. "I really haven't done that."
A glimmer of light flashed in Lu Ye’s eyes, but on the surface, he still sounded unconvinced. "Then who is living in your house?"
