"Then, what if it were your grandfather who wanted to see you and bring you back to the Lu family? Would you be willing?" Lu Ye looked at Xuanxuan.

Xuanxuan froze. "Grandfather..."

In her memories, she had only ever heard of her grandfather from her parents. She had never actually met him. Her mother used to say that her grandfather was a good person, but he just couldn't accept them for the time being. But... he was her father's father, so why wouldn't he see them or accept them?

Xuanxuan shook her head. "I've never met Grandfather, so I don't need to see him in the future either. But I can't bear not seeing you and Mommy Jiang Sui."

She had never met anyone else from the Lu family. She only knew that the man before her used to visit her often when she was very young. Back then, she called him Uncle. Now, she called him Father. He had told her that she had never truly lost her parents and that she would always have them. Lu Ye gently patted Xuanxuan's head, his gaze darkening slightly. "I understand. Let's go inside."

Xuanxuan turned and followed Lu Ye back. Auntie Zhang, however, couldn't help but step forward and ask Lu Ye, "Sir, is it really true that our house doesn't have..."

Lu Ye paused his footsteps and said calmly, "With the Madam here to keep the house, there will be no problems."

Auntie Zhang was left speechless. The Madam keeping the house? She didn't quite understand what he meant by that.

Uncle Chi poured freshly brewed tea into a cup and handed it to the Old Master. "Please calm down, sir," he said with a smile. "The Second Young Master is no longer a child; he should be able to make his own decisions regarding his marriage."

Hearing this, Old Master Lu retorted coldly, "Make his own decisions? He carries the Lu name! The wife he marries concerns the entire Lu family. Every head of the household in each generation has married someone vetted by their elders and the family. My eldest son was disobedient; he rejected the family marriage alliance and ran off with an outsider. Even though they are gone now, that was still a mistake!"

Uncle Chi replied gently, "The eldest son certainly did some things wrong, as it affected the reputation of two families. But that has all passed, and after all... the eldest son is no longer with us..."

Old Master Lu's temper softened slightly, though his stubborn eyes could not mask the sorrow that surfaced at these words.

"That is why I intend to bring Xuanxuan back. She is, after all, a descendant of the Lu family. There is no reason for her to be raised by an uncle," he said, his brow furrowing deeply. "Furthermore, he actually let Xuanxuan go on a television show with that woman. What good can a child of the Lu family learn from a female celebrity?"
