Jiang Sui flashed a grin. "Our great agent Shi — handsome, kind-hearted, and with an excellent eye for talent. Signing me was only natural. You're so worked up, Ms. Tina. Could it be that since you're my ex-agent, you're feeling a little jealous?"

Tina's expression soured.

Where did Jiang Sui get the nerve to say something like that?

Jiang Sui let out a sigh. "I'm not really one to dwell on the past, so Ms. Tina, I'm sorry — but I'm afraid I'll just have to remain your one regret."

Tina gritted her teeth. Who was Jiang Sui putting on this act for?

Who regretted anything!

Who was jealous!

What nonsense was she spouting?

How conceited could she be!

Xiaomiao blinked, glancing between Tina, who looked ready to grind her teeth into dust, and Jiang Sui.

This sister with the intimidating aura was pretty impressive...

Should she tell her what she'd overheard? That woman was bad-mouthing her.

Tina's face flushed red with anger.

Han Shuang, meanwhile, was growing impatient. "Are we going or not? I still have a role to audition for."

Tina's expression immediately turned sycophantic. "Yes, yes, let's go. We'll head over first."

With that, she quickly led Han Shuang toward the director.

Shi Heng frowned. "In this industry, everyone flocks to whoever's hot and rides the wind. You're pretty famous now, so why hasn't your ex-agent come crawling to suck up to you?"

Jiang Sui: "If your ex-boyfriend ended up doing better after leaving you, how would you feel?"

Shi Heng: "Heh..." He let out a sinister, cold laugh.

Jiang Sui: "..."

She understood.

"I think she's really licking up to this Han Shuang." Jiang Sui remarked.

Shi Heng: "Obviously. Tina's a nobody of an agent, but Han Shuang at least has some standing. She wouldn't dare not to grovel."

"Xiaomiao." Jiang Sui looked back at Miao Xiaomiao.

"Sui姐." She immediately stepped forward.

Jiang Sui looked at her. Even though Xiaomiao had come over, she was still keeping some distance.

She raised a hand and beckoned.

Xiaomiao almost reflexively crouched down, letting Jiang Sui's hand rest on top of her head.

Xiaomiao: "..."

Pupils dilated, heart trembling with terror: Ahhh, she's not going to find out, is she? No, no, no!!!

Jiang Sui patted her head gently. "Take my makeup case to the styling room and wait for me there."

Xiaomiao nodded obediently. "Okay, Sui姐."

With that, she hurried off with the case.

Shi Heng watched Xiaomiao's retreating figure. "That girl seems a bit off somehow."

"Off how?"

Shi Heng rubbed his chin. "Can't quite put my finger on it. I just get the feeling she's really afraid of you."

Jiang Sui's brow arched slightly. "Is that so?"

Good. She should be afraid.

It meant that she really might be what Jiang Sui suspected.

Though it was quite a surprise — she hadn't expected to encounter a creature of this kind in this world.

Then again... by all rights, it shouldn't be possible.

Tina led Han Shuang straight over to the director.

"That Jiang Sui is auditioning for a role too. Do you know which one?" Han Shuang asked in a low voice.

Tina said, "I don't know either. But don't worry — she can't take your role. Her acting is so bad it would enrage even a third-rate director. She might not even make it into the crew."

Han Shuang felt reassured and followed Tina to meet the director.

Han Shuang was auditioning for the female lead, and she didn't want anyone competing with her.

But if it was Jiang Sui, she had nothing to worry about.

Just then, everyone turned to look at the entrance.

Under the escort of a group of bodyguards, a tall, slender young man walked in.

The familiar aura made Jiang Sui's brows draw together slightly.

The director also looked over. When he saw who it was, he broke into a smile.

"Qin Ze, you're here."

The strikingly handsome young man brightened the entire venue the moment he appeared.

He walked over toward them.

The director immediately introduced him to everyone with a grin. "This is Qin Ze. He happens to be shooting an ad nearby today, so I invited him to make a guest appearance on our set. You all were saying there was no male lead to spark some emotion — well, here's a handsome man for you."
