Chapter 29: The Passage and Opening a New Shop

After they finished eating, a strange surge of energy welled up inside them.
The group sensed that unusual energy and immediately realized something was wrong.
Sure enough, it was not long before they began jumping and dancing for joy.
They looked around, wanting to settle accounts with the person who had ordered the dish, only to discover that the culprit was nowhere to be found.
The restaurant descended into chaos for a while.
Seeing that this might interfere with business, the system decided to teleport them to a large open space.
Someone who witnessed the scene asked in utter confusion, “What is going on?”
One of those affected gritted his teeth and explained the whole story.
Some people found it fascinating and ordered the dish for themselves. In the end, they happily joined the dancing crowd.
And so, the scene before them evolved into a wild dance of demons.
To be honest, one person might feel embarrassed doing something like this... but when an entire group was at it, they found it amusing instead.
At first, Huhu had sensed that something was wrong and called Qin Yueran for help. But now that things had developed this far, it felt that Qin Yueran did not even need to come down anymore.
Qin Yueran gazed up at the sky. “...Well, this is something.”
“Oh, Boss Qin is here! This dish of yours is amazing! It’s perfect for relaxing,” a male cultivator said, his eyes shining.
The corner of Qin Yueran’s mouth twitched. “...Thank you.”
Remembering that her hundred draws had produced quite a few juices as well, she asked, “Would anyone like some other juices with strange effects like this one? If you do, I’ll upload them.”
Those nearby who heard her perked up. “Yes, yes, please!”
Qin Yueran: “...”
Wait, you really want them?
Still, the customer was supreme, no matter how vast the world might be.
Since they did not think there was anything wrong with it, and she could earn points in the process, why not?
Seeing more and more people gathering around, Qin Yueran’s social anxiety flared up on the spot. She used the teleportation function to send herself back to the top floor.
She patted her chest. “Thank goodness, thank goodness, thank goodness I ran fast. Thank goodness there’s teleportation.”
Suddenly, Qin Yueran glanced left and right and scratched her head. “Huh? Where’s Huhu?”
At that moment, Huhu was surrounded by customers asking whether it wanted to try some Happy Jumping Fish Soup as well.
Huhu: “T^T”
Little Ran, why did you suddenly abandon me and run away?
Qin Yueran added a note to the Happy Jumping Fish Soup, explaining what would happen after eating it.
Happy Jumping Fish Soup
(Note: Eating it will make you happy—and make you jump for joy.)

After that, she uploaded a series of strange-flavored juices, a name she had come up with herself.
Burp-Burp Juice
(Note: Take one sip, and you burp once.)
Goose-Goose Juice
(Note: Take one sip, and you let out a goose call.)
Rooster Crow Juice
(Note: Take one sip, and you crow like a rooster.)
...
...
After uploading several varieties of strange juice, Qin Yueran received a notification that she had leveled up.
Qin Yueran: “!!!”
Her business level had reached Level Four! Wonderful!
Huhu, who had just managed to break free from the customers, received the message as well and exclaimed in delight, “Little Ran, we leveled up!”
Reaching Level Four unlocked new features. Qin Yueran eagerly opened the panel to see what they were.
“A passageway?” Qin Yueran froze. She opened the details. “Oh, a passageway leading to another world...”
She nodded in understanding. Then, as the meaning sank in, her eyes suddenly widened.
“Wait! What did I just see?!”
Qin Yueran examined the words from top to bottom, then from left to right, reading the information over and over again. After pinching her own thigh, she finally confirmed that she had not misread it.
What was more, the information came with two passageways as a bonus!
“So, if I understand correctly, the guests coming to the island aren’t limited to people from this world?” Qin Yueran turned to ask Huhu.
Huhu nodded. “That’s right. Originally, you were only supposed to receive one free passageway.
“One of them was granted by the Heavenly Law of this world as a special favor. So that passageway leads beyond the boundaries of this world, rather than to another world.”
“So Miss Shi and the others’ sect can come to the island too?” Qin Yueran asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Of course. It would be even more convenient if the entrance could open directly inside their sect. However, the entrance on the other end of the passageway opens at random. It all depends on luck.”
“Oh. Then does the other passageway, the one leading to another world, also choose a world at random?” Qin Yueran tilted her head.
“Little Ran is very clever,” Huhu praised. “Once you choose to unlock it, the system will randomly select a world and deploy the passageway there. If you want to unlock more passageways later, you’ll have to spend points.”
Qin Yueran nodded to show that she understood. This business system really was quite generous.
Its share of the profits was not excessive, and it even gave out rewards whenever the business leveled up.
“Although the commission is going up by ten percent,” Huhu suddenly added.
Qin Yueran: “...”
What? She had only just finished praising it!
Before Qin Yueran could ask, Huhu immediately explained, “Travelers from other worlds will be disinfected when they pass through the passageway, to prevent viruses, bacteria, and the like from being brought here—or taken there.”

Qin Yueran understood. “Oh, then an extra ten percent isn’t too bad. Does every passageway add another ten percent?”
A sudden thought struck her. She remembered that shortly after binding with the system, Huhu had mentioned that the commission might increase by ten percent in the future.
So this was what it meant—the commission for opening passageways.
Huhu puffed out its cheeks. “What are you thinking, Little Ran? How could we be so unscrupulous? The feature itself adds ten percent. Even if you open eight or ten passageways later, there won’t be any further increase.”
“Oh, now that’s a good deal!” Qin Yueran exclaimed. It really was a conscientious system after all.
She silently gave Huhu and the mastermind behind it a thumbs-up, then continued checking what else had been unlocked.
“Wow! I can open other kinds of shops now too!” Qin Yueran said in delight.
More and more miscellaneous items had been added to her restaurant’s menu. At this point, it was no longer a simple restaurant.
Qin Yueran searched for a beverage shop. She wanted to move all the drinks into a separate establishment.
Unlocking a new shop required two hundred thousand points.
Qin Yueran checked her balance. Fortunately, fortunately, she still had plenty of points left.
She spent two hundred thousand points to unlock a new shop—a milk tea shop.
Then she placed it beside the inn.
“Boom!”
The tremendous commotion attracted the guests wandering around the inn.
When they approached, they discovered that something had appeared behind a surrounding enclosure.
Gu Yuanyuan asked, “What’s going on? What is this?”
Curious, he rose onto his tiptoes and tried to peek inside, but he could not see a thing.
“If only I could fly on a sword,” Gu Yuanyuan lamented, his face falling.
“Ah, well. Since it’s something Boss Qin made, perhaps a notification will pop up automatically in a moment,” someone suggested.
On the top floor of the inn—
“Oh, right!” Qin Yueran slapped her forehead. “I forgot to notify them in advance. Never mind, sending it now will work just as well. Huhu, send them a notification.”
Ten seconds later, the construction was complete. Qin Yueran clicked to unwrap the package on the panel, and a new building appeared before everyone’s eyes.
At the same time, the guests received a notification informing them that this was a new shop. Its name continued the old style:
A Milk Tea Shop.
Drinks such as pearl milk tea, lemonade, strawberry cheese tea, and Burp-Burp Juice were all moved here for sale.
With the points remaining, Qin Yueran could unlock three more shops. After thinking it over, she decided to open a hot pot restaurant as well.
Those who had not yet left once again experienced the same scene as before. This time, however, the notification arrived immediately, informing them that the new establishment was a hot pot restaurant.
Since both shops were newly opened that day, Qin Yueran also issued a notification announcing a twelve-percent discount on everything in both stores.
