Publishing at midnight, a few words.
Today the editor informed me that the book will be officially released for subscription at midnight.
An issue that we simply cannot avoid is subscriptions. The mature woman genre is extremely difficult to write, highly niche, and presents a tremendous writing challenge.
"Starting by Confessing to a 41-Year-Old Classmate's Mother" can be considered Old Li's first mature woman work. This book was previously titled "Reborn: Instead of Chasing the Campus Belle, I'm Chasing Her Mom," which also drew quite a bit of criticism online.
This current book can be considered my second attempt, as the first one indeed had many flaws.
Since the author was still quite a novice and had never written anything this long, my first book only reached 200,000 words. The second one entered the boutique category, but stopped at 570,000 words, and the third one was 190,000 words.
The Campus Belle is the author's fourth book in life, currently standing at 2.51 million words, with about 500,000 more words left to write. Writing something this long for the very first time inevitably makes it hard to maintain full control.
However, the author has gained a lot of insights and hopes to improve with this new book, delivering an entertaining urban romance featuring mature women for everyone.
On Qidian, you can hardly find any established authors willing to write books about mature women.
Because such a niche theme severely limits a book's potential ceiling, the top-tier authors would never choose to confine their writing's upper limits.
Moreover, writing this kind of book easily invites disdain from certain readers who look down on the mature woman genre with a sense of superiority, thinking that anyone who reads this genre is a loser.
The path of writing in this genre is exceptionally arduous because subscriptions are generally mediocre. Yet Old Li has persisted all along, hoping to write even more mature women's works for everyone in the future.
Mature women in a post-apocalyptic setting, mature women in fantasy—these are all Old Li's dreams. If they can be realized in the future...
Well, I've strayed a bit off topic...
Writing this type of book is truly not easy. I won't go on about how miserable I am, because it's certainly not as miserable as last year's New Year's Eve when I was still typing away in a rented room. I only ask that everyone comes to Qidian Chinese Network to subscribe to this book and support Li Ziman.
Tonight, which is Saturday at midnight, the book goes live. The author has no idea how many chapters I can churn out as a release blast because I have no stock chapters saved up. Since I am still dual-publishing the old book, the pressure to keep up with updates is quite intense.
However, once it goes on sale, I definitely cannot update this slowly. On the first day, there will be a minimum of seven chapters, and as for anything beyond that, it depends on how much I can write.
Life is not easy. I sincerely hope that the brothers who truly love the mature woman genre can subscribe and support Old Li. The author really needs subscriptions and desperately wants to elevate the performance of works in this genre to a higher level.
I am begging you all. For brothers who genuinely have no money to spare, please at least give me the first chapter's subscription—this is extremely important. Better performance can allow the author to write a longer and more substantial story.
Lastly, regarding the VIP fan group, I will create one after the book has been released for a while. I set up a public group for my previous book and it brought a lot of trouble, so I won't be setting one up this time.
