Chapter Twelve: Resource Exchange
The World of the Supreme One.
Before dawn, Meng Qi quietly slipped out of the meditation room and hid beside the small stream where he usually fetched water.
The stream was deserted, and the moon, not yet fully faded, cast a faint glow upon the water.
Meng Qi glanced around to ensure no one was nearby, then suddenly produced a small porcelain vial in his hand.
Inside the vial was none other than the Body Strengthening Pill sent to him by Xiao Yan.
Having read part of the "Supreme One" world, Meng Qi’s experience was quite different from Xiao Yan’s. Xiao Yan’s journey was exhilarating, filled with endless power-ups and advantages.
Meng Qi’s path was the opposite—an infinite loop.
The Main God Space was perilous beyond measure, leaving him constantly on edge.
Of all the people, Meng Qi was the most grateful to Shi Jian. The "Supreme One" was like a strategy guide for the infinite space.
The Main God Space mainly required completing various missions, many of which were traps.
Knowing the future was tantamount to possessing a mission walkthrough.
The "Supreme One" was Meng Qi’s secret weapon.
Yet, even with knowledge of the future, he harbored concerns.
After all, strength was the final arbiter in the Main God Space.
He had only just begun cultivation and was utterly powerless, which made him uneasy.
Xiao Yan’s pill came at a critical moment.
By enhancing his physical strength, his chances of surviving the Main God Space would improve.
Without hesitation, Meng Qi swallowed a pill.
The gentle medicinal power quickly spread throughout his body.
Xiao Yan had chosen this pill with care; its power was mild and easily absorbed.
Moreover, its effects were quite pronounced for someone like Meng Qi, just starting cultivation.
He could distinctly feel his physical constitution improving.
Meng Qi: “Brother Xiao, from now on, you’re my brother. This pill really saved me. Once I enter the Reincarnation Space, I won’t be completely powerless anymore!”
As he absorbed the pill’s power, he expressed his gratitude to Xiao Yan in the group chat.
There’s nothing like hometown support.
One gave him the script, another helped him grow stronger.
Our folks are truly generous!
...
Xiao Yan: “Reincarnation Space, infinite loop? How come your protagonist’s fate is so miserable? Punished by the Main God?”
Having only crossed over in 2009, Xiao Yan was familiar with infinite loops.
They were indeed harsh.
But Meng Qi was the protagonist—surely he wouldn’t fare that badly.
Meng Qi: “I’m totally powerless now, just about to enter the Reincarnation Space. I’m terrified. Thanks to your pill, I at least have some chance to protect myself!”
Meng Qi wasn’t entirely without skill; he had learned some moves and could handle ordinary people easily.
But the Reincarnation Space was rife with danger; the stronger, the better.
Xiao Yan’s pill could boost his physical strength by dozens of times—a substantial enhancement.
...
Shi Jian: “I have many ancient species here, all with robust vitality, very beneficial for cultivation. After you acquire your techniques in the Reincarnation Space, you can come to my world to train for a while!”
Shi Jian was well aware of Meng Qi’s situation.
The later stages of the Supreme One world were terrifyingly powerful, involving legendary immortals and deities.
The ceiling was high, but the starting point was low.
A martial arts beginning.
Plus, Meng Qi had been sent to become a monk...
His restrictions at Shaolin Temple were significant—no personal space.
Early on, it was better to cultivate in other worlds to gain an edge.
That way, he could catch the Reincarnation Space off guard.
Reading Shi Jian’s message, Meng Qi was tempted.
He hadn’t eaten meat at Shaolin Temple for who knows how long.
Besides, he thought, owing Shi Jian such a huge favor, a few more debts wouldn’t matter.
Meng Qi: “Ancient species? Like those from the Classic of Mountains and Seas?”
Shi Jian: “Something like that!”
Meng Qi: “Then I guess I’ll be counting on you (smiley).”
...
After Lin Dong, Yang Qi, and Fang Han received their red envelopes, they also grasped their function: sending items across worlds.
They all tried Xiao Yan’s pills.
Though they didn’t cultivate Dou Qi, this kind of pure physical strengthening pill still had some effect.
It was a valuable cultivation resource.
Just as they were about to speak, they saw Shi Jian and two others chatting.
They looked puzzled.
What was this infinite space?
How did Shi Jian and the others know about it?
Could it be a specialty from that place called Earth?
...
Though a bit lost in the conversation, it didn’t affect their actions.
Lin Dong: “I didn’t expect Xiao Yan, you’re an alchemist. Your pill works well, speeding up my absorption of primordial energy!”
Lin Dong: “I have some Stone Talisman Spirit Medicine to share. This potion is excellent for body tempering and healing—useful for cultivation and recovery!”
Lin Dong was a man of loyalty; his principle was simple: you treat me well, I treat you well; if you offend me, I deal with you.
Now that he had Xiao Yan’s pill, he naturally wanted to reciprocate.
After figuring out how the red envelopes worked, he sent them to everyone.
...
Shi Jian’s face showed a faint smile after receiving the potion.
This elixir likely came from Lin Dong’s Stone Talismans.
It was a good cultivation resource for him as well.
But Shi Jian’s happiness wasn’t because of the potion.
It was because of the group atmosphere.
The main purpose of the chat group was naturally to exchange talent and resources.
The group was filled with unparalleled geniuses.
...
They were destined to become the power that could dominate entire realms.
Such a gathering of protagonists connected through the chat was an overwhelmingly formidable force.
If anyone ran into trouble, a word in the group would summon countless protagonists from across worlds.
What villain could withstand that?
This was talent exchange.
As for resource exchange...
Everyone’s worlds were vast, filled with countless rare materials, treasures, and cultivation techniques.
By sharing resources through the chat, cultivation speed could increase by dozens or even hundreds of times!
Yet, whether exchanging resources or talents, good relationships among group members were essential.
Shi Jian chose transparency, revealing everyone’s futures and establishing good rapport—a solid start.
He was the bond holding everyone together.
But that alone wasn’t enough.
To truly realize resource and talent exchange, others in the group needed to communicate and forge friendships.
Now that Xiao Yan and Lin Dong sent red envelopes, it was a good sign.
This marked the beginning of mutual resource aid.
Currently, they were not yet close enough for deep trust.
But once they were, what was yours would be mine, and mine yours...
You have one secret weapon, I have one; together, we have two.
One group, a multitude of secret weapons.
Becoming stronger would be inevitable.
Shi Jian imagined this and felt exhilarated.
...
Fang Han thought much the same.
Rising from servant origins to where he was now, his character was exceptional.
The chat group was clearly a greater blessing than the Heavenly Dragon Yellow Springs Diagram.
Grateful to Shi Jian for revealing his future, he wished to make friends with the others.
From the chat, he could tell everyone’s temperament was commendable—worthy of deep friendship.
Since Xiao Yan and Lin Dong had sent red envelopes, he wouldn’t accept favors without reciprocation.
Give and take built bonds.
He had wanted to send some pure blood pills, but despite their efficacy, the materials were somewhat off-putting and might not be accepted by the group.
After consideration, Fang Han thought of another function of the chat group.
Fang Han: “I’ve received your red envelopes, thank you very much. I’d like to send some in return, but my cultivation resources might not be accepted... I’ll try another feature of the chat group!”
Fang Han uploaded the Primordial Spirit Technique.
A message flashed through the group.
Fang Han: “This chat group can upload cultivation techniques. Try this one I’m sharing—called the Primordial Spirit Technique. It’s a method for refining spiritual power, and you should all be able to practice it!”
