Those last few words were probably Chen Kaige’s true intent.
After all, the Ning Group was the most prestigious family in Jiangcheng. If they casually shared their client information, Chen Kaige could easily swallow Ning’s market share.
His proposal was akin to coaxing a drenched little girl, bare-bottomed, to sleep beside him—then soothing her with the claim, “I’m doing this for your own good, or you’ll catch a cold.”
Such wolfish ambition wouldn’t fool even a three-year-old.
Ning Yuelan wasn’t a soaked little girl; naturally, she wouldn’t believe that sharing a bed with Chen Kaige would leave him without ulterior motives.
“Chen Shao, your scheme—I heard it all from the bathroom,” a crisp young voice rang out behind them.
Ning Shiyu appeared, sipping milk tea as she walked over.
Chen Kaige glanced at the increasingly mature and alluring young lady, a sly gleam flashing in his eyes. “Oh? It’s been a while. Shiyu’s style is getting more sophisticated.”
Influenced by her sister Ning Yuelan, Shiyu wore a tight skirt today, paired with a brown blouse and a small necktie. White stockings hugged her slender legs, exuding a full academy vibe.
What caught more attention, however, was how the blouse strained against her voluptuous figure.
Fang Mo couldn’t help but steal a couple of glances, let alone the lecherous Chen Kaige.
He was practically fantasizing about claiming both sisters!
“I worry those buttons might pop open any moment...” Fang Mo coughed discreetly.
Good heavens, how did Ning Shiyu grow from little Ning to a giant overnight?
But his words still reached Ning Yuelan’s ears.
She angrily kicked Fang Mo’s heel. “Cough, cough, Yuelan, don’t misunderstand. I’m just worried my sister-in-law might have a wardrobe malfunction.”
Ning Yuelan said nothing more and pointed to the door.
“Chen Shao, if there’s nothing else, please leave.”
She held up two fingers.
“First, I, Ning Yuelan, will not marry you. I made that clear long ago. Second, I am married. I have standards; I won’t tolerate undue contact with a lustful man like you.”
“Your brother Chen Kaixuan should’ve told you about my marriage...”
Chen Kaige shrugged noncommittally.
As the heir of the Chen Group, his depths ran deep. Even when confronted with the sudden news that the woman he had long admired was married, he remained unfazed.
“I know.”
“But Yuelan, if you think your husband—the scrappy kid by your side—is the one who truly supports your career, I suggest you think again.”
He then looked at Fang Mo.
“Kid, I won’t say much. Just one question: can you help Yuelan with the crisis Ning Group is facing today?”
Fang Mo’s eyes narrowed.
No wonder Chen Kaige never glanced at me—he was setting a trap.
But this virus isn’t complicated.
Not only me, any member of the Dragon Squad could easily handle it.
Fang Mo had already scanned the computers of the technicians present; this was child’s play, something he could crack and even trace back at thirteen.
Ning Yuelan, unaware of Fang Mo’s thoughts, grew furious seeing Chen Kaige tormenting her husband.
“Chen Kaige, whether my husband can help me isn’t up to you, but me. He can help me detoxify, make me feel great—that’s help!”
“An adult causing trouble in my company—aren’t you ridiculous?”
“I’ll give you three minutes to leave, or I’ll have security throw you out.”
Detoxify?
Fang Mo’s mind flashed to the three kisses he shared with Yuelan yesterday, his gaze involuntarily dropping to her tender, rosy lips.
Ning Shiyu rolled her eyes upon seeing Fang Mo’s expression and quietly elbowed him.

“Hey, find a chance to slip away. You’re just earning my sister some enemies here.”
“Watch out for Chen Kaige’s attention later.”
Hearing his sister-in-law’s well-meaning warning, Fang Mo chuckled lightly.
“I’m Yuelan’s husband. Would I let a woman face a storm alone?”
Pfft!
Handsome or not, you need the skills to back that up!
Ning Shiyu rolled her eyes again, saying no more.
Meanwhile, Chen Kaige wore a composed expression.
“Sorry, General Manager Ning, I have an appointment today with the company’s second-largest shareholder, Ning Huarong. Without his consent, no one can make me leave.”
Cheers!
Upon hearing this, Ning Yuelan’s face darkened.
“Where is Ning Huarong?”
Ning Huarong?
Ning Yuelan’s uncle?
Fang Mo was somewhat familiar with the name.
It was common for wealthy families to have many branches and offspring, but rumors said Ning Yuelan’s relationship with this uncle was strained.
“Niece, six months without seeing you, your temper’s grown!”
A man in a white suit suddenly emerged from the crowd’s rear.
The employees around gasped again.
“Ning Second Uncle is here? Didn’t he relinquish company control to General Manager Ning and stop meddling in affairs?”
“Yeah, why is he here? Ning Second Uncle lacks the talent to manage the company; otherwise, the elder wouldn’t have handed the group to young Ning. What’s he up to today?”
Ning Yuelan watched Chen Kaige and Ning Huarong standing side by side, her pretty face growing colder.
“Second Uncle, what do you mean by this?”
“At a critical moment like this, if you’re not actively repairing data, are you planning to challenge me, Ning Yuelan?”
Ning Huarong laughed heartily.
“Don’t misunderstand, niece. I think Chen Shao’s suggestion has merit. You should listen to him more.”
“I refuse!”
Ning Yuelan said coldly without hesitation.
Ning Huarong’s face faltered, then he burst out furiously.
“Ning Yuelan, are you growing wings now?”
“The one wasting time isn’t us but you. Even Master Long cannot reverse this. Chen Shao’s plan is the best solution I see. If you keep hesitating, can you bear the losses alone?”
Many executives showed troubled expressions. Clearly, some didn’t want the data transferred, but faced with the fierce virus, they felt helpless.
Chen Kaige, seeing his advantage, licked his lips.
“Yuelan, the virus’s terror lies in delay. The longer you wait, the heavier Ning Group’s losses. You’d better decide quickly—carefully, clearly!”
What nonsense.
Handing over data is like giving your Achilles’ heel to the Chen Group.
Ning Yuelan would be subordinate forever.
“General Manager Ning, we cannot hand over the data.”
Before her secretary could finish, Chen Kaige slapped him.
Smack—
“This isn’t your place to speak.”
A blatant provocation.
Ning Huarong nodded toward Ning Yuelan.
“Niece, Chen Shao is your best match. Why worry? When you two are united, our families will be one sooner or later. Today just accelerates that process.”
“On the brink of death, without client data, Ning Group is finished. What are you still thinking about, Ning Yuelan?”
“Right, will you ignore the thousands of employees relying on Ning Group just for some so-called dignity?”
Several executives behind Ning Huarong spoke up, having long sided with him.
Ning Yuelan and her secretary both looked grim.
Suddenly, a voice came from a nearby computer.
“Actually, it’s not that bad yet. The firewall on my computer should be able to block this hacker attack...”
A gasp!
All eyes turned to the speaker.
Ning Yuelan’s pupils tightened.
It was her husband, Fang Mo!

“Brother Shen!”
“Mm!”
Shen Changqing walked down the street. When he met acquaintances, they greeted or nodded, but no one showed any extra emotion, as if indifferent to everything.
He was used to it.
This was the Demon Suppression Division, an organization dedicated to maintaining stability in the Great Qin dynasty, primarily responsible for slaying demons and monsters, with some other side duties as well.
Every member carried blood on their hands.
After witnessing life and death so often, many became indifferent to much.
When Shen Changqing first came to this world, he struggled to adapt, but over time, he grew accustomed.
The Demon Suppression Division was vast.
Those who stayed here were either powerful experts or had the potential to become so.
Shen Changqing belonged to the latter.
The Division was divided into two roles: Guardians and Demon Slayers.
Everyone joined as the lowest rank of Demon Slayer,

then gradually advanced, aiming to become a Guardian.
Shen Changqing’s previous self was a trainee Demon Slayer, the lowest rank.
With memories of his past life, he was very familiar with the Division’s environment.
Without much hesitation, Shen Changqing stopped before a loft.
Unlike the grim and blood-soaked surroundings of the Demon Suppression Division, this loft stood out in serene contrast.
The door was open; people occasionally came and went.
After a brief pause, Shen Changqing stepped inside.
The atmosphere shifted suddenly.
A scent of ink mixed with a faint blood smell hit him, causing a momentary frown that soon relaxed.
The bloodstain on everyone here was almost impossible to wash away.
