Chapter 136: A Touch, a Visitor!
In the car, Yan Qingwu shed the calm and composed mask she had worn in front of Gong Jiu, revealing a look of intense frailty. She was clearly in great pain, beads of cold sweat forming on her forehead. Sui Yi frowned; she wondered if this natural girl’s affliction was truly that excruciating.
She had never seen Gong Jiu like this.
"Do you need to go to the hospital?" Sui Yi asked suddenly.
Wang Jin almost lost control of the steering wheel. Go to the hospital? Miss Sui, are you sure the young mistress won’t chop you into pieces? Still, it sounded like Sui Yi was genuinely ignorant about such matters. Wang Jin felt suspicious. Even he, a big man, knew full well what this was about.
Yan Qingwu hadn't expected such a comment from Sui Yi either. It wasn't the sort of thing a girl would typically suggest, was it? Going to the hospital for a period?
"No need, I’m fine... it’s always like this," Yan Qingwu said, leaning against a cushion with a wry smile. It was just that her case was exceptionally severe, and this was only the beginning.
Sui Yi, unaware of Yan Qingwu’s thoughts, said softly, "Gong Jiu doesn't get like this. Is it because of her martial arts training? Do you not train?" That girl could take down a dozen people and engage in life-or-death combat even while on her period. Why hadn't Tang Hanyan taught her own daughter martial arts, given her own strength and their lack of constraints?
Sui Yi asked out of genuine curiosity, but the atmosphere in the car chilled. A shadow of gloom crossed Yan Qingwu’s eyes.
"...I cannot learn. It’s a matter beyond my control." Her voice was calm.
Sui Yi lowered her eyes. "I apologize." Just three simple words; she asked nothing further.
Perhaps because of her weakness, Yan Qingwu’s usual cold, haughty demeanor had faded, replaced by a gentle vulnerability. "It’s not your fault. Actually, one always gains some things and loses others. I think I have already received too much to have any right to be dissatisfied..."
"I see. Does that include the pain from your period?" Sui Yi asked quietly.
Pfft! Wang Jin couldn't help but burst into laughter. The voice was so pleasant and the tone so serious, yet in the blink of an eye, the tender atmosphere was completely shattered.
Yan Qingwu didn't know how to respond. Embarrassment? The other girl had asked so naturally. Awkwardness? With Sui Yi’s earnest and innocent gaze, it felt as though feeling awkward would make her the dirty-minded one. Thus, Yan Qingwu, tormented by her cramps, was left speechless.
Sui Yi, however, assumed the silence meant she was still in too much pain to speak. She frowned slightly. "May I touch you?"
"..." Yan Qingwu froze, stunned. Touch? Touch where? "Sui Yi, could you please not phrase it like that!" Although she knew Sui Yi was the type to shock everyone the moment she opened her mouth, this was really too much.
Yan Qingwu looked at her gloomily. Sui Yi understood and clarified, "Your stomach. Let me touch your stomach."
Wang Jin wept silently in his heart. *Sui Yi, our young mistress isn't pregnant! What are you doing?*
Yan Qingwu usually disliked people getting close to her, but toward someone as simple and gentle as Sui Yi, she couldn't bring herself to refuse. She smiled weakly. "You don't mean to use your internal energy to..." Her smile was strained, for the pain was intensifying. It was a pain comparable to childbirth—at least, that was what she surmised, given how her mother’s face would turn deathly pale whenever she watched her suffer.
Before she could finish, Sui Yi’s hand was already resting on her abdomen, separated only by a thin layer of her coat. Yan Qingwu’s stomach was flat and soft, and even through the fabric, one could feel the delicate waist.
Yan Qingwu stopped speaking, staring fixedly at the calm-faced Sui Yi. She had expected to feel uncomfortable and to push her away, but instead, she felt a strange sense of intimacy. Was this a familial bond?
Sui Yi’s slender, gentle palm rested on her stomach without much pressure. After a while, Yan Qingwu felt a warm, soothing heat radiating into her belly. She was astonished.
"Is this internal energy? But it feels different from my mother’s..." Wang Jin, who had initially thought Sui Yi was joking, realized she was genuinely using her internal energy to alleviate Yan Qingwu’s pain. And it seemed quite effective.
They didn't know that Sui Yi was channeling a layer of magnetic resonance within her energy. She had known from the start that this resonance had a miraculous effect on healing, which was why she had attempted to ease Yan Qingwu’s suffering. Fortunately, it seemed to work.
Time ticked by. Wang Jin could clearly see Yan Qingwu’s complexion improving, the deathly pallor replaced by a healthy rosiness, a stark contrast to her usual near-death state. He was overjoyed but dared not speak, fearing he would disturb them.
Soon, Yan Qingwu gently pressed down on Sui Yi’s hand. "That’s enough, Sui Yi. I feel much better... you shouldn't use too much of your internal energy." She knew that a martial artist’s energy was precious and difficult to cultivate; overexertion could damage one’s foundation. Sui Yi was so young; she shouldn't exhaust herself for her sake.
"It’s fine... close your eyes and rest. You’ll be better soon," Sui Yi said calmly, her palm not moving.
"But..."
"Be good..." Sui Yi patted Yan Qingwu’s head.
Yan Qingwu: "...." Why did that gesture feel so much like her mother?
Wang Jin watched the scene, his brow twitching. *My goodness, this girl’s personality is just too...*
Exhausted, and lulled by the soothing warmth, Yan Qingwu soon closed her eyes and drifted into a deep sleep. As the car continued, Sui Yi kept her internal energy flowing.

When Yan Qingwu woke up, she was already in her own bed. Beside her, only the nanny was dozing in a chair, along with a cup of warm water. She blinked, subconsciously touching her stomach, lost in thought.
In the next room, Tang Hanyan listened to Wang Jin’s report. Her expression shifted several times before she finally sighed. "It is a pity. Why didn't we meet this girl earlier? Now, it is too late." Her brows were tightly locked, her eyes filled with reluctance, frustration, helplessness, and resentment... In the end, it all settled into a hollow calm.

After entering the Mingyue residential complex, Sui Yi had stepped out of the car without waking Yan Qingwu and retrieved her bicycle to head home. Because she had given instructions to Gong Jiu and the others earlier, they hadn't gone to her house.
However, a Volkswagen was parked in front of her courtyard gate. Sui Yi glanced at the license plate, mentally filtering through the plates of her acquaintances, and concluded that the visitor was a stranger. Her expression tightened slightly. She entered the gate, parked her bike, and walked into the villa.
There seemed to be quite a few people inside. As she stepped into the entryway, she saw four extra pairs of shoes.
"Mom, I’m telling you, this house is excellent... Father left behind quite a lot of good things back then; no wonder you could afford a place like this!"
"Exactly, Mom, you can’t be biased. We aren't asking for much, just this house..."
"Second brother, can you stop talking about this!"
"What did I say? This house was bought with our family’s money to begin with!"
Hearing this, Sui Yi didn't even look up as she changed into her slippers and walked into the living room. She saw five people sitting on the sofa: an old woman, a man, two women, and Auntie Wang.
"Oh, Miss Sui is back," the nanny said, visibly relieved. She hurried over to help Sui Yi with her books. Sui Yi thanked her and turned her gaze toward the six people staring at her. She knew Ye Zhang, Wang Yu, and Auntie Wang, but who was the other woman? She was about thirty or forty, not particularly striking but dignified, and bore a resemblance to the old woman in her youth.
Sui Yi had her suspicions, especially when she saw Auntie Wang wink at her. Sui Yi lowered her eyes, shuffled over to the glass coffee table, picked up the teapot, and poured herself a cup of tea.
"My, she doesn't even know to greet us after seeing us. Mother-in-law, you really need to teach this child, otherwise, she won't even know who she is..."
"Moved to the city and thinks everything belongs to her; she's getting quite arrogant, isn't she..."
Ye Zhang and Wang Yu were always in sync when it came to their mean-spirited bickering. Hearing their acid-tongued remarks, Sui Yi raised her teacup, stood up straight, and took a slow sip. She raised an eyebrow, her cold, icy gaze sweeping over them. It was a bone-chilling, indifferent look.
The couple’s voices died instantly. Ye Zhang belatedly remembered the painful lesson Sui Yi had taught him that day.
At that moment, Sui Yi locked eyes with the old woman, who had been silent on the sofa. The woman nodded, and Sui Yi nodded back before pulling out her phone and dialing.
"Hello, Miss Sui. This is the Mingyue Property Management office. How may we help you?"
"I want to know how two unauthorized people managed to get into my home."
"Eh?" The property management staff, who treated the villa residents like gods, shivered at the sound of Sui Yi’s cold, clear voice. They apologized profusely. "Apologies, Miss Sui. They claimed to be your relatives—the old Mrs. Ye’s son, daughter-in-law, and daughter—so we..."
Sui Yi listened, her gaze flicking over Ye Zhang and his wife. Once the staff finished, she replied, "My only relative is the old Mrs. Ye. In the future, check with me before letting anyone in. As for these so-called son and daughter-in-law... have someone come and escort them out."
"Yes, yes, yes, I’ll send people over immediately!"
Sui Yi hung up. The manager, upon hearing the report, was furious. "That’s Sui Yi? Damn! That young girl seems easygoing at first, but she never wears her anger on her sleeve... If she says that, she must despise those two! Go, go, go! Send men over and drag them out! Damn it, the higher-ups specifically told us to be careful with her!"
Several burly security guards hurried over. Inside the villa, Ye Zhang and Wang Yu were left trembling with a mix of shock and rage.
